Story

Deriving from one of Ipswich’s finest established family businesses, Barnes of Ipswich Ltd, The Bed Factory has organically grown whilst carrying the ethos of the original company. The Bed Factory prides itself on its exceptional customer service as well as the offering the highest quality products.

Manufactured in the UK, in our own factory located behind our showroom in Ipswich.
Our newly renovated showroom reveals our extensive product range, comprising of metal, wooden and upholstered frames and headboards, alongside The Bed Factory’s own brand of quality divan sets, mattresses, electric beds and ottoman storage frames. To meet all of our customers’ individual requirements, our made to measure policy means that if it’s possible to make, we can make it on our premises; our specialities lie primarily with rounded beds, unusual sizes up to 7’0” by 7’6” and unique mattress sizes for IKEA and antique frames.

Located directly behind our showroom is the factory itself, which during our production times you are invited to view (subject to staff availability) so you can actually watch the entire production process first hand.

Our craftsmen have more than 100 years’ experience combined in the manufacturing industry so you can rest assured that your products will be of the highest quality. We are constantly revising and updating our equipment to ensure the highest standards are met, whilst giving the customer a specialised, but cost effective service.
