Such a great & cosy pub! First time at this location rather than at West Hampstead - but just as great! Mushroom burger was !Food: 5/5
Very good pub, with great ambiance and there was even live music. The staff is absolutely fantastic and very kind. I just took 1 star off as the food was good but my dish was quite cold. The fish however was perfect cooked and warm, so I imagine it was because they reheated the beans. But overall a very nice place with good value
Feeling Scammed at a British Pub. The just want to increase your bill and try to charge you a high service fee for a service you didn’t request. My partner and I went to have a few drinks yesterday evening. The place is a typical local British pub. We ordered our drinks at the bar and then took a seat on a sofa. Despite a sign indicating that the area was reserved for later—which we were already aware of—the staff approached us several times to remind us of this, although it was not yet time for at least 40 minutes. They continued to interrupt us; on their last visit, they asked if we wanted another round, to which we agreed as they were very insistent . The bar was only a couple of metres away for where we were sited. Later, we moved to another table, yet the interruptions persisted with the staff prematurely bringing the bill, which we had not requested. To our surprise, they also added a 12.5% service charge like if it was a high end restaurant and for a service we never requested and it was just making the experience worst. It felt like a scam. The staff did not just fail to assist us but continually interrupted us, which ultimately increased our bill for a service we didn’t asked for and become annoying.
I came here for Sunday roast and the atmosphere and pub itself was really nice however there are a few pain points.

The vegetarian roast was half an aubergine as a meat replacement and although the menu says all roasts come with a Yorkshire, it didn’t and upon ordering one as the plate is otherwise solely vegetables for £18, I was charged and extra £1.50 for it?

The service was friendly but most seemed super stressed. We had our orders taken but had to ask for the Yorkshire pudding twice and then weren’t ever checked on after ordering.

Overall, it’s a nice pub when it’s not busy but felt like £30 for an aubergine and veg roast with a pint of cider was too much. Vegetarian options: Nothing special. Half an aubergine as a meat replacement yet nearly the same price as other dishes.
I came here for my birthday party and booked the mezzanine section of the pub for about 20 people. The staff from the bartenders to the bouncers were all so kind and made the night so much fun. The DJ was amazing and was playing so many great songs. My friends and I had such a good time and everyone was raving about it afterwards.
Lovely staff. Super friendly. I liked the yellow peas hummus. Not a big fan of the celeriac and squash fritters. They were very oily and the chilli sauce needed a lot more chilli. My burger was nice, specially the chips. Super crispy. The house pickle could do with a but more vinegar or pickling time.
Alice house is just amazing. A lot of wood and fairly big spaces and different levels of flooring give you a special vibe. Super cozy, and the burger is amazing. The way how the bulbs hang from the ceiling, is really cool too. The only point if I may to say the top bun of the burger is cold when it comes to the table. If they could fix that, it would be amazing. And I missed the Wolfpack pale ale. They were run out of it. But the waiter was very kind and offered me a great alternative. I recommend to visit, and try the burger with bacon.
Had my 50th birthday in the library room, it was an amazing night with a lovely atmosphere and the staff were very welcoming and went above and beyond to help. We had their sliders with fries for finger food which were amazing the guest loved them. The only criticism I can give is that the speakers in the library area are not that great, not enough bass. Luckily the good vibes and music selection compensated for it.
Had dinner with friends. Live music, nice pints and food was really good. We all had fish with veggies and enjoyed it. Would definitely come back to try more.Food: 4/5
Love the cosy, chic atmosphere and the mouth-watering food options. The retro brick interior and quirky light fittings also add to the atmosphere. I've added it to my barguide.london site too!Food: 4/5
