Taster menu for £60 was delicious. Rocket sorbet was innovative. Sweatmeats yum, wild bass and cockles tender and tasty, artichoke and white chocolate dessert, mega yum! Cocktails could do with a bit more TLC but we were there for food. Staff were accomodating about one person in our group's dislike of cockles and adjusted bill accordingly, great customer service. Will go again.
This restaurant was honestly spectacular- I went for my birthday dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the food- a wide variety of courses 8 in total were truly some of the best food I have ever tasted! And the decor was unique, in the style of a trendy garage with a large and bustling open kitchen. I genuinely believe that it only a matter of time until this restaurant recieves a Michelin star- In the big picture of things, In some aspects, this even beats 2 Michelin starred restaurants- This restaurant absolutely made my birthday- I would strongly reccomend anyone who sees this comment to go, the experience was worth it!
This British-Asian restaurant is situated in a refurbished Notting Hill garage. I sat in a dimly lit bohemian style room where the atmosphere was casual. I began by ordering some bread with whipped duck butter, tarama and chicken liver parfait. The spreads were creamy and added an enjoyable chewy texture to the crusty bread. For starters, I ordered the Straciatelli which came with peach, gooey cheese, and basil. It was rather refreshing. For the mains, I had mackerel and rock samphire lampascioni which paired well together. The chocolate cremeux cardamom ice cream for dessert was rather disappointing. I felt it lacked in decadence. The crémeux was neither a sauce nor a mousse and it needed a crunchy layer or sponge to improve the taste. The bill totalled an inexpensive £37.97 per head, excluding alcohol. Overall I would say the place does have a cool vibe about it and the food with the exception of the dessert was enjoyable. But still, I found the menu style to be overly creative and unfortunately there wasn’t one dish exciting enough to lure me back to this place.
Wow! Perfect service. Can't go wrong here. And I can tell, because we ordered everything on the menu :
Delicious eclectic food, really excellent flavours. I liked that that vegetable dishes were as thoughtfully prepared as the meat dishes, and that the menu included sweetbread and liver pate. Several of the dishes were so delicious that I doubted they were dairy free as I had requested, but no stomach trouble in evidence, so they did indeed find a way to skip the lactose. Not 5 stars for a few minor quibbles - wish they had a beer selection, the pacing was a bit odd the first courses all came out right on top of each other, and I personally dislike being offered barstools for a multi course meal we booked in advance. Staff were friendly and casual and it was a nice experience overall.
Had dinner twice in February. Chris is a total genius! This place is the best alternative to a posh Micheline Star Restaurant but without the fuss and the overpriced dishes. Atmosphere is casual-smart, cocktails are great and the food is brilliant. Mi guests were extremely impressed and defined it as the best food experience they ever had in London. PS: Don't miss the rocket sorbet!!!!
This restaurant is unique. The decor is industrial chic and the menu is outstanding mixing odd ingredients to make interesting combination flavours. Set menu for everyone with limited choices. I'm not a huge fan of mixing sweet and savoury but enjoyed not relished everything on the 6 course experience.
I booked a table for a friend's birthday months in advance after seeing how great thre reviews were online. However, I was extremely disappointed with the place! The food was bad. The asparagus was undercooked and the fish was too fishy and no dressing or sauce to accompany the taste. I didnt try anything there that I would like to try again except for the dessert which was not bad. The dishes were over-priced for the taste. The atmosphere was not bad and customer service was okay. But overall experience in terms of food and price were disappointing, especially after waiting such a long time for this reservation. I just wish the reviews I read online were more expressive and showed more realistic description.
What a unique and fantastic experience! I arrived and to be honest wasn’t sure, it was a fixed menu and I like to chose! After requesting one change, happily accommodated, to a veggie dish rather than sweetbreads, I relaxed into trusting the chef, and had an amazing evening. Great place, fab staff, cool vibe and special food! Go now!!!
Nice atmosphere and great staff. 6 course set menu, slightly cheaper at lunch time. 2 courses give you an option of 2. I found the food was very particular. If you didn't like one of the ingredients, which were often quite strong, then it was hard to eat the course e.g. the ravioli in soup had a very strong horseradish taste...don't like horseradish and the whole course is out!
