Lovely little place. Went there on a Monday afternoon for lunch hence wasn't crowded. Ordered a pizza which proved to be more than enough for 2 adults. The taste was brilliant as was the service.Food: 5/5
Dinner was OK but my partner 's organic chicken came only with potatoes and no greens. My baked salmon was very good and came with potatoes, green beans and samphire which I really enjoyed. Onto dessert....??? What a disappointment! ..... having ordered the chocolate brownies at £9.50!!! each!! we looked forward to a magical, hot gooey brownie, oozing sumptuous chocolate flavours. What we got was a lump of luke warm, very dry, flavourless cake with no chocolate or oozing in sight. Very disappointing!
I am going to be honest, this is a place to go if you want a good portion pizza and pasta AND also ones that taste nice. It’s a nice little local restaurant in Maida Vale and I am glad to have this place as my local. The pasta dish I grabbed was so good- I asked it to be with fusilli instead, which is different to what is written on the menu, but they didn’t mind. The pizza is always freshly cooked, with nice seasoning as well. Only downside is the price point. I still don’t think, while the food is delicious, the price point they are charging is justified.
It has a buzzing atmosphere, but it's more of a bar that serves an attempt at Italian food, rather than a true Italian restaurant think of what one would make from the supermarket bought, heat in the oven jobs. The wait staff are worked off their feet. Clearly needed one more person. Had to ask 5 times for water, and still didn't get it.
A lot of hard surfaces, which makes it rather noisy. The toilets are horrendous McDonald's old sinks and childrens toilets. No grab rails or disabled equipment. The wine is delivered by tesco, and what they charge for a class, you could get a bottle and have change. Soft drinks just don't bother. The female manager really needs to be sent on a customer service course. The rudeness was uncalled for. Will not be booking a table again. The rest of the staff were very nice, they work hard. Nothing is too much trouble.
Lovely restaurant and bar. I know them for their pizza, mainly, so I cant comment too much on the other dishes. But the pizzas are great, they have a nice thin, chewy in a good way, and tasty crust. The tomato sauce has a delicious sweetness to it, and the cheese tastes good without overpowering. I only remove 1 star because I think the prices are a little bit on the high side. I would not recommend getting Le Cochonnet pizza at these prices purely for the pizza. But as an experience to go out and have a nice meal on a charming parade of shops, with a wonderful, welcoming, and friendly staff, it is worth it!
This restaurant is allowing kitchen staffs to leave the working area to throw some pieces of cucumbers to an Asian young lady customer. I reported this to the manager but they did NOTHING but saying it was just a joke, and that pasta chef was laughing. I felt bullied and disrespected. This is not acceptable at all as a joke. Disappointed with how rude the kitchen staff was, how carelessly the management showed, as well as the hygiene issues as they were playing with the kitchen ingredients.
I’ve been going to La Coch since I first moved to London from Ireland in 1996 and pure luck saw me living around the corner from what was to become my fave restaurant in London. I have been at least once a year, since as I haven’t lived in London are very long time, and was there with my pregnant wife on Sunday. The food, vibe and service were off the scale as always. My wife left her jacket there and was quite upset as she only remembered when we got back to Manchester the following day. All it took was one call and they posted the jacket out to us and refused to take any money in return. A big shout out to Juliet, the manager who was so helpful when we rang up. You guys are great and I look forward to my next visit.
Nice meal at Le Cochonnet, 2 adults shared a pizza and some fries, and we ordered a kids penne pomodoro for our 1 ½ year old. Pizzas are a great size, chips were very tasty, as was the pasta which was also pretty big for a kids portion. Not much of a kids menu, just 3 pasta dishes offered at a smaller size, but that does the job at a pizza and pasta place! Price wise, it wasn't cheap but an expected London price, we paid £47 for our meal, which included a 'service charge', though we were still asked if we wanted to leave a gratuity. Kid friendly place and overall we'd go again for a quick, tasty meal! Parking: Parking on the road outside is only controlled Mon-Fri, 8am-6pm, so if you're visiting outside these hours, you can park anywhere in the bays. Kid-friendliness: Not much of a kids menu but very accommodating to children
Lovely staff members , bread is fresh and good start to the meal. Fish is a very hard fish to perfect and u fortunately I wouldn’t recommend , very bland and a lot of greens thrown all over it , no real seasoning . Pizza was ok , not that special Goat cheese bureshca was lovely and desert was amazing . Nice place but wouldn’t really recommend if you want good good Italian food
