Fantastic decor! Friendly and efficient staff. Great choice of ales: Timothy Taylor's Landlord and Old Speckled Hen. I wasn't staying at the hotel nor did I eat there. Toilets are downstairs. Definitely coming back!
A beautiful Grade II listed building a short walk from Warwick Avenue tube station. A reasonable beer garden out the front and what feels like sheer luxury inside. Beautiful fittings throughout. Problems affecting the kitchen stopped me eating but I would be happy to go back. The staff were really friendly and i had a good long chat about the building with far too much to include here. The Guinness was awesome.
Visited on 2nd Nov 2024 for a drink and was impressed by the beautiful interiors and the festive setup for Day of the Dead. I’d love to come back again! One small note for the management: We were there around 3 PM on a Saturday, and while the place was quite empty, the service could have been better. The female bartender who served us seemed a bit indifferent when I ordered a drink. She did make the cocktail, but there was no smile or welcoming customer service. Initially, I thought it was just me, but on the way back, I mentioned it to my partner, and she pointed out the same thing. While the bartender wasn’t rude, the lack of engagement stood out. I understand everyone can have an off day, but this should not impact the customer experience. Even the other male bartender seems to be quite indifferent. No enthusiasm or a smile l.
Amazing, historic hotel. Great spot to catch up with friends or have a biz mtg. Service is friendly and once we worked together to solve the challenge of where wine lists live, everything was good. The local clientele is shiny, well heeled and still has that whole aura of pre-Brexit optimism. Except for that one guy.Service: 5/5
This was an excellent place to stay. It is above a pub that has a lot of business and interesting people. The rooms were very clean, a big TV, and a nice area to walk around. The staff were very friendly and were able to accommodate our group of seven for a couple days. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere to stay while visiting London.
Although I didn't stay long because I was meeting up with some people the atmosphere and the surface I got was great I didn't stay off any of the room so I can't really rates that there's a downstairs on an upstairs and there's also an outside area the outside area isn't very big but it tends to be a lot for people who are either smoking and also I guess when we went it was raining they also have a live band I don't know if it's everyday but we came on the Friday and they were doing a live band on the Friday however I enjoyed the overall experience when I was there prices wise how to say it's about average like most pubs and bars are
We are starting a new project in the area and finishing a meeting thought we would grab some dinner in the new place we will be spending a lot of time in the coming months. The pub itself is beautiful, the menu is okay- very general pub grub. No table service- order at the bar. Staff seemed friendly enough at the bar. However when our food arrived the young lady practically threw it at us and the only conversation was ‘’cutlery is behind you’’. We would have at least expected cutlery napkins, condiments brought to the table when our spend for 2 people including bottle of wine was £68.45 + a round of drinks. Very disappointing for such a beautiful pub and nice location. The food was less than average- sausage and mash absolutely swimming in gravy and chilli very dry. We were not checked in on to see if everything was okay and when plates were collected I said thank you to a mere nod from the same young lady. I really feel the staff have received no training whatsoever for their front of house role and we will not be returning to this pub/restaurant. Very poor customer service and mediocre food.
The pub itself is quite nice and beer reasonably priced. The staff however don't seem to enjoy their job and don't engage with customers at all while they wear a sullen face. Ordered a burger, the patty of which was very standard supermarket quality. The unsmiling staff delivered the food to me with no cutlery nor even a hint as to where cutlery could be found.
The young man serving at the bar was very pleasant. I had dinner with my wife. The food was average at best. The young woman who served us basically threw it at us and pointed to a service station behind us and said, "You can get your cutlery there," and walked off. - possibly the worst service i have ever experienced. No check in to see if food was okay or had received everything we ordered. Definitley will not be returning.
OK location but not worth the accommodation prices they are asking for. No breakfast is available and children are allowed to stay there. The lady owner told us the place is not insured for kids : However the gentleman at the bar helped us carry our heavy suitcase to the top floor and the cleaning lady next morning was super helpful
