Booked a table for their afternoon tea service and got seated looking out deom the balcony. Beautiful view over the Thames and the ferries coming in and out. Felt really posh without intimidating I can feel out of place when it's too posh. Tea was fabulous, as were the treats. They have vegan and vegetarian options, which we both chose. Devoured all of it - not eating lunch in preparation for this. Every single piece was lovely. Highly recommend! Vegetarian options: Had extra vegetarian and vegan afternoon tea menues.
We went to the Swan next to the Globe for afternoon tea. The young gentleman on the desk was able to bring our table forward an hour and was friendly and helpful. Our table was on the top floor, in front of the french doors that opened onto the balcony overlooking the Thames. It really was a wonderful view. The service we received was great. The food was delicious The Duchess of Malfi afternoon tea. Fresh sandwiches, home made scones and the delicious sweet bites were all heavenly. Special mention to the tea, I had English breakfast and my husband was adventurous and tried the Dragon well green tea. He thoroughly enjoyed it. To round off a really enjoyable time, I was presented with a lovely happy birthday plate which again was delicious. Thank you for making my birthday extra special!
What a wonderful afternoon tea experience! Nothing was too much trouble, great selection. Scones so buttery little sweet treats fresh and hitting so many flavours. Amazing tea selection. Beautifully presented. Will be back for sure, without children hopefully.Food: 5/5
I stumbled upon Swan by chance and loved it! Their flat white is delightful, and the chorizo sausage roll is a must-try. The place has a relaxed atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly, making the experience even better. Definitely worth a visit!Food: 5/5
We was welcomed and shown our cute table with a lovely view! The menu was explained in detail, great product knowledge! There’s 3-5 options for the afternoon tea which we were overly pleased about. We opted for one each, classic, gentleman’s, vegetarian but there’s also GF and also an alternate for allergens too. Love this! We shared ours and really enjoyed. Overall a great experience. Bravo!
Came here after our Globe Theatre Tour. We asked to be seated sooner as our tour ended earlier than expected & they were able to accommodate. It was a nice little treat during our stay! The service was friendly & the atmosphere was very bright and warm. There were 2 options for the high tea food we got the Classic and multiple options for tea. The bottom tier is refillable sandwiches, ceasar salad & tart along with the clotted cream and jam for the scones. It was quite filling considering! Overall, it was cute and fun!
Wonderful Sunday Roast with Spectacular Views! We visited this restaurant for a Sunday Roast, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The location is unbeatable, with breathtaking views of the River Thames that truly enhance the dining atmosphere. The decor is stunning, adding to the overall charm of the place. The highlight, of course, was the Sunday roast itself. The food was cooked to perfection, with generous portions and delicious flavours that left me completely satisfied. But what truly sets this place apart is the staff - they were absolutely brilliant! Friendly, attentive, and always ready to accommodate any request. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Whether you're a local or just visiting, it's definitely worth a visit. I'll certainly be returning soon!
The food was pretty and the location had great views, especially if you're on the 1st floor or higher. I would recommend booking ahead of time since it seems pretty busy. We had a reservation around lunchtime for 4 people and were seated and served relatively quickly. Unfortunately the service was a little strange. One of us had ordered a pot of I think Herbal Orange something tea and then had been served something different. Okay, no prob small mistake— we let the waitress know, and she leaves with the pot only to... come back and give us the same pot of incorrect tea??? And then tells us that her manager said that we ordered this. Uh, incredibly strange behavior. So we called her over again after a few minutes and said, "Hey, can we just get what we ordered", and eventually after having to check in with her higher ups like why? It's your mistake and we had to even ask you twice, what do you mean you have to check with someone else , they finally just gave us the right pot of tea. Truly a deranged moment, acting as if we couldn't tell what you served us was not what we ordered. Also, the bathrooms were pretty cute. You can take the Uber boat directly here by the way, since the dock is right in front.
A lovely pub with a restaurant along the river. Shame they took the steak and chips off the menu, it was a really good dish. My friend enjoyed the vegan burger. My scones were lovely. Service was very slow, wrong orders taken to the wrong table, very disorganised. We sent the receipt back as they had included the next tables orders. I think that table left without paying, probably waited too long for their bill. They also had to wait for cutlery after the food was served. Vegetarian options: A small selection available Parking: Mainly residential parking so permit needed Wheelchair accessibility: From the front of the pub, you have to go up stairs to get into the pub as it’s in the first floor. It might be possible to enter via the theatre entrance but didn’t see wheelchair access to get up there.
Had the afternoon tea today in the private room upstairs, stunning service, amazing tea selection and I'm not even a big tea guy tried them all except the green teas they offered as options... Split both a gentleman's and a classic afternoon tea, you WILL NOT be disappointed with either. And we would definitely recommend getting them both and having half and half if you're in a couple. Bit pricey but more than worth it. Loads of brilliant things on both dishes, lovely afternoon, would return and will be recommending.
