Crooked Billet Having come to the Crooked Billet for several years, I have not once felt unwelcome. The staff always welcome you with a friendly charisma and will alway help. The selection of drinks is always a great variety even though I order a Guinness which has never failed me yet. Alongside a great selection of beers and wines the food menu has some top notch dishes, from pizzas to a great Sunday dinner the quality never fails. Overall the Crooked Billet is one of the best pubs in East London, and with a garden which just keeps going you are guaranteed to find yourself over the summer.
Great pub - good selection of beers and mulled wine plus good food. Only complaint could be it is a bit dark a bit like electric candlelight!. But a good atmosphere music not too loud.Food: 5/5
My recent lunchtime visit to The Crooked Billet left me utterly impressed and eager to share my experience. From the moment I stepped into this charming establishment, I knew I was in for a treat. I opted for the burger from the menu, and upon placing my order, I made a simple request for fresh onion to be added to my burger. To my delight, my request was promptly fulfilled, and the burger that arrived at my table was nothing short of perfection. Every bite was a symphony of flavors, with the juicy patty perfectly complemented by the crisp freshness of the onion. It was evident that great care had been taken in crafting this culinary masterpiece, and I savored every mouthful. One aspect that truly stood out to me was the exceptional beer selection. The Crooked Billet boasts an impressive array of brews, catering to every taste and preference. Whether you're a fan of hoppy IPAs, rich stouts, or crisp lagers, there's something for everyone here. I thoroughly enjoyed sampling a few different options throughout my meal, and each one was a delight to the senses. But perhaps the highlight of my visit was the pub's stunning garden. The size and beauty of the outdoor space are truly remarkable, and I can only imagine how wonderful it must be to visit on a sunny day. I can't wait to return when the weather is warmer and spend some time relaxing in this idyllic setting. Overall, my experience at The Crooked Billet was nothing short of exceptional. From the delicious food to the outstanding beer selection and beautiful garden, every aspect exceeded my expectations. I can wholeheartedly recommend this pub to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. I'll certainly be back for more!
The beer garden is beautiful and interior really nice. The food is prohibitively expensive £5 for an extremely small portion of chips and nearly £20 for a super small burger made of totally average ingredients and frankly so is the beer, paid over £6 for a pint of guiness. The service is totally average and nothing particularly special about the pub so can't really justify as to why it's this expensive, even w/ cozzy lives. Wouldn't go back in future unless invited...It is nice, just made us feel ripped off.
Great pub with huge seating areas inside and out. Food was lovely we went on a Sunday so had roasts, the things I would say let it down are the service, the bar staff are nice but seemed distracted, one of our servers had headphones in so couldn't hear us/interact with us, and everything seems very hectic and messy considering there were so many people working! Would recommend for food but maybe would try another less busy day to visit.
A lovely pub atmosphere with amazing food. Great pub garden and the staff are very friendly , especially isla who i was served by! A excellent pub to visitFood: 5/5
Best pub in Hackney. The staff are what makes it what it is, super friendly and attentive. The garden is stunning and they pour a better Guinness than the Auld Shillelagh. Bravo guys!Food: 5/5
Muireach and his team were excellent hosts for our Aussie rules football club's the London Swans annual awards afternoon in the summer. The beer garden was a great size, the beers cold, the spirits well poured, and the food delicious. To top it off, the staff were friendly, great fun, and exceptionally accommodating for our large group. We hope to spend a lot more time at The Crooked Billet in 2023 and beyond. Thanks for having us!
Lovely beer garden! They have a big but well organised space outside for many people and it all run smoothly. You won’t be waiting long for your order. Great and very professional staff. The food is delicious ! Chips and padron peppers came in huge portions which was unexpected but welcomed : They have TVs across the whole space. So if you are a football fan that is a great place to be! And don’t miss out on Pub quizzes every Monday
Great friendly pub with an atmosphere to match. Really vibey inside as you would expect on NYE. Was served really quickly without a reservation and although there was no room indoors to sit, the outside had heaters and it was much quieter, so we could have a conversation. Vegan cheese burger and chips was perfect! Service prompt and friendly. They also do great Sunday roasts. Vegetarian options: Great vegan burger and chips
