Story

Light on the Common re-opened in February 2014 after undergoing a refurbishment. The restaurant is now warmer and cosier with a more intimate feel. The restaurant is committed and proud to use only the best and freshest seasonal ingredients in our ever evolving menus. We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and look forward to seeing you soon.

We regularly visit the Light Cafe.  Easily accessible as we cycle there and lock our bikes outside.  The staff understand when we ask for a window seat, to watch our bikes!  Always friendly, chatty staff.  Food has never disappointed.  Wine is good, sometimes a little pricey but from a comprehensive list.  Deserts are equally as good.  We've been there a dozen times, have no problem in going a dozen more.

Great food and great service. Tucked off the main road from Wimbledon. We had a an evening meal there. Great selection on the menu. Would recommend the pork cheek started and chicken wrapped in pancetta main.

I have now been to the Light on the Common a number of times from hosting a birthday party of 24 to just my son and I and on every occasion the food, ambience and service have been excellent.
My guests have all said how much they enjoyed their respective dishes, all served with a smile and minimum wait. Highly recommended.

Food is delicious... asked if I could order a take away and was told no... so, if I ask for a doggy bag would that also be a no? Very confused!

Visited a couple of months ago. Pre booked. Nice seat next to fire. Food was ok but not for that price range.
Were asked to finish by the female assistant manager after 1 1/2 hours as they were going to need our table for someone else ! Complained to our waiter who deducted the wine..... Will never visit or recommend the restaurant. Far better places to eat in the village
