Bayee Village is a dining experience Amongst the best Chinese restaurants this side of Knightsbridge it is frequented often by celebrities and to that effect when you wish to be private, private dining areas are available Some of which are an eight seated table just off the main room, decked out like a room from the forbidden city, tables by a delightful aquarium or along a raised walk way under a tree bamboo canapoy. For total privacy a private dining room is offered A nice touch is the grand piano towards the back Dishes are priced moderate to expensive. A starter, two main, a rice dish, a veg dish, mineral water, small saki and a dessert came to £72 for myself. There is a very spacious disable toilet availability on the ground floor which can comfortably accommodate a wheelchair. More of a request would be to have a warming tray to keep your food warm. And a small container to keep the saki warm too. All in all very impressed
Oh my God! The best Chinese restaurant I have tried in London so far! We had prawn dumplings as a starter, followed by Ma pou tou fu.. Steamed sea bass with ginger and spring onion. I recommend sum green vegetables with garlic, mix them with boiled rice. Additional beef in black beans sauce on crispy noodles. I rarely go for dessert, but I was too tempted and I was not disappointed: toffee banana with ice cream! Yummy! Wine was good, a white one : Macon village. I ended with a very special mint tea, organic, served with honey and lemon on a side. I WILL COME BACK! It was quite full, so I would book in advance!
Very nice restaurant with lovely decor went just before Wimbledon and was decorated to celebrate and great food. The food is reasonably priced considering the general splendour of the restaurant and the portion sizes are reasonable. The restaurant is very accommodating with tweaking meals and with children being present with high chairs available. This is a lovely Chinese restaurant for a celebration or if you want to splurge.
After being dragged out here by my other half on the basis that her family used to come here all the time, and having heard raving reviews from her for years, this place did live up to its reputation. It's a pretty good eat, albeit pretty expensive for a Chinese restaurant, but that's Wimbledon for you. The staff were friendly, if not a little difficult to understand at times, and we were a little rushed - when arriving to ask for a table, we were promptly asked how long we thought we would take to eat! The food is delicious, if not quite a bit westernised. The crispy duck with pancakes is particularly good.
I was pretty happy with this new find of mine. It's a lovely chinese pretty centrally located in Wimbledon village. The food, comes at a price, but is generally very tasty so I can't complain. There's a nice ambiance to the restaurant as well so great for a date or a large group. Likes: Salt and Chilli Prawns, Singapore noodles, friendly staff. Dislikes: Very average dumplings.
The only thing good i can say was delivery was good. Very expensive for what you get on the takeaway menu. It arrived cold and my chicken and cashew nut consisted of a 1 carrot small breast and very bland sauce. Tiny for £9 with no rice. Which was 3.90 for boiled and was cold. Watery dim sums and thick glupy dumplings. Well we wont be ordering again.
Very expensive take out. It was disappointing. Such high prices and the food was only Ok. The pork and duck appetiser combo was good as were the salt and pepper prawns, but everything else, meh. Soft shell crab was awful, I sent it back. I think this place survives on that it used to be good and celebrities used to eat there- even though they have a picture of Venus Williams labelled Serena Williams which to me is unacceptable!
Sunday lunch and was very well looked after by Ben. He made us feel very welcome and the food was great. 3 other tables had Chinese people eating on them which I think is always a good sign.
RED HOT KUNG PO!!! Best Special Fried Rice! Crispy Chilli Beef! Great place to eat and the best take away Chinese you will ever have delivered!!! Love these guys!
This restaurant is run by a bunch of fools who really don't know much about customer service. The people who pick up the phone to take an order are rude and irrespective how much money you spend, they will give u one side is soya sauce to go with, where other restaurants will provide any such side e.g sauces based in the size of the order.
