The Light House opened in 1999 to great critical acclaim and has gone from strength to strength ever since. Now well established as a friendly, neighbourhood restaurant with a modern, international menu and an inspiring selection of wines. The friendly, professional service contributes to its well deserved reputation as one on of the best places to eat in South West London. We now have air-conditioned dining too! This place is actually nasty. There was moldy food in the microwave, phone doesn't even work, wifi is bad, beds are hard as rock might as well sleep on the floor. Definitely think they should check for bed bugs... Never any staff at the front desk, bathroom door doesn't even shut. Don't recommend coming here. Dirty dirty dirty.
Went in today jun 28. Pulled the phone at reception and told the lady I want a room. She said ok and came up. I gave her my driver's license and credit card. She kept on looking at the credit card, then asked if it's mine name on it matches my id in her hand btw. Then I guess she didn't like the card or didn't like me and said no rooms. Listen. You want to say no rooms, say that before you stare and analyze my credit card.
No a/c that works. Dirty rooms. Well overpriced. TV and cable did not work. I honestly could go on. Not worth staying in even if next closest one is 15 mins out your way.Rooms: 1/5
Super disgusting and disappointing. Online we were told the room we booked sleeps 3 people, but once we arrived we were slammed with random charges adding on another 75$ because the motel had to "make money off the third person". I asked to speak to the manager and she was EXTREMELY RUDE and snapped back at me. My room had live wires exposed everywhere... I definitely didn't feel very safe. I also had a dirty room with dirty towels, and we were apparently lucky with the "newly renovated" room. I'd rather be homeless than live here, it's a rip off.
Place was disgusting! cigarette holes in the bed sheets and comforter Dried liquid still on the bedside table And visible hair in the bathroom. We had no other choice that night because every other hotel was booked full! The room was so disgusting that we didn’t even feel comfortable sleeping in the bed we were forced to sleep on top of bed in our clothes Because the bedsheets were so revolting! most uncomfortable sleep ever!!
Terrible place to stay! Go somewhere else, no chains on door, had to get a heater and blankets from the manager from the room being so cold and drafty. People on the streets have better blankets than they gave us - ripped and holes! Then had to leave a $50 deposit for it! Really? Like we were going to break their crappy heater just so we could get cold again. Never had a chance to try the restaurant out front but have heard from locals that it's an excellent place to eat.
Our room was very dirty. Thick dust behind the nightstands along edgers of room and under bed. chair upholstery had a lot of wear and black dirt marks on the seat and arms. Expensive for very dated facility. Management tried to charge our cc before we checked in as we were running late and she thought we weren't going to show. Tried to switch out our room halfway through stay BC they overbooked. Spend your money elsewhere . I wish I did.
Place is a dump. No chain lock on door. Crash bars to outside doors didn't work so they didn't lock. Heat is controlled by owner. Had to ask for a heater. It was so cold that my husband encountered the owner walking in the halls in her pajamas with a blanket wrapped around her. Towel were so thin that you may as well used tissue paper. Halls stunk from some ethnic people cooking in their rooms and the owners solution was to open the outside doors and let more cold air in. No clocks other than the microwave. Restaurant/bar smelled like old mold and old cigarette smoke. They too had a space heater running that we turned toward our table to keep warm. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!!!!!
First words: STAY AWAY! This place is outdated, horribly maintained and looks like its forgotten. Our stay lasted for about 30 mins after discovering that our room has holes in both outer bed covers and the bed sheets as well. No hair fan, bathtub has chipped paint, the walls have drag marks all over. And it continues: the carpet in the room is ripped right in front of bed, the chair is ripped and the internals of the chair are visible. The best was discovering an open pack of condoms in the drawer beside the bed! Stay away, its not worth the money, pay a bit extra and have something 10 times better! STAY AWAY!!!
The place was retro, super retro. Old fashioned washrooms, hallways and everything. It wasn't anything special but the rates were sky high! $100 for a room!!! Unbelievable! But I had no choice so I stayed the night. No service whatsoever. Not even a facility for drinking water! I had buy bottles of water from a nearby store. The A.C wasn't even working!
