This remote basic campsite has been a great base for many journeys up the Langstrath to Scafell, along the Cumbria Way and beyond for 40 years or more. It's now got water and basic amenities. Easy vehicle access along the track from Stonethwaite. The pools a short distance up Stonethwaite Beck and Galleny Force waterfall are a great place to swim, it's cold and deep. The Langstrath Country Inn is back along the track about half a mile, good beer and excellent food too for those that don't want to rough it on the campsite.

Absolutely adore this place as do some of my closest friends. Been going for about 20 years and if I don't get my fix of the place annually (hopefully many times) I have major withdrawal. It is stunning, surrounded by trees, mountains and a beautiful river running through it. No phone signal and basic facilities but you will feel like you have come home. It makes your soul feel at peace
