Story

Castlerigg Farm is in a particular beautiful part of the Lake District, away from the noise of towns and traffic, an ideal location for walking and relaxing.

With exceptional panoramic views of the surrounding fells, the site looks down towards Derwent Water and in the distance Bassenthwaite Lake. Keswick town is aprox 25 minute walk down through the woods or a 5 minute drive by car.

We are a family site, catering for families and couples, not suitable for noise.

We have a rule of no noise after 10.30pm. Consideration for other campers is welcome. Please see the Rules and Site Information for more information.

Fabulous as always we try and get here 2/3 times a year lovely people who own the site, we booked this weekend at last minute they took the time to fit us in! Love this peaceful relaxing place.

I have just returned home after camping for 4 days with my partner and her parents at castlerigg farm and I must say what a fantastic site this is, apart from the awesome views surrounding you the facilities are 5 star, the showers are 50p for four minutes but are long enough to get a good wash and wash your hair, the showers are nice and hot and very clean, toilets too are very clean and cleaned every hour by the wardens on site, there is pot wash area, laundry area, dog wash, the little shop on site has everything you need if you run out, ie milk, eggs, bacon, camping supplies, cold drinks, gas and more...check in was quick and easy, we were camping with electric so the warden took us to our pitch but if you go non electric you can basically pitch up anywhere... there is a little cafe on site called the hayloft, the menu has plenty of variety for everyone, you can even takeaway pizzas if you don't want to sit in the cafe, we had a full breakfast in there which was excellent and filled you up ready for a day of walking, Hayley who runs it is very friendly and nothing is too much trouble... the 10.30pm silence curfew is no problem at all like most people complained about on past reviews, I'm so glad I didn't take notice of them and as for past reviews saying it was too military, not at all, the owners just want a nice clean campsite with no complaints from other residents, not a lot to ask when your running a business!!... we cannot wait for the season to start again in march as we will definitely be back, all I'll say is don't listen to the bad reviews go and try it for yourselves, you won't be disappointed.... thanks castlerigg for a great wk even with heavy rain and winds we had a fantastic time... Bernie your a top man and a credit to the campsite !! X
