Cant fault the back to basics site. Pulled up on the car park, was advised the best pitch for my tent by Richard. Paid my £10 , pitched up and just enjoyed the site. Brilliant views all around. 50p for a hot shower and then just soaked up the peace and quiet. Clean toilets and showers even though there were quite a lot of D of E on site. They were respectful and quiet by the way!nFind better for a tenner each with the location and views!
we love staying here! We went for one night and enjoyed it so much we went back for three more! The facilities were clean and well looked after. It’s got a lovely pub nearby. The owner is a friendly and welcoming man who was very helpful. we appreciated the lack of music and rowdy groups which really made this campsite peaceful and the perfect holiday ! would recommend if you were looking for a cheap, lovely campsite in a great location.
Wonderful campsite in beautiful location. Good value for money. Arrived to Richard greeting us from his vehicle. Settled up with cash for the 3 nights, chose our pitch and set ourselves up. Cars allowed onsite to unload and pack up, but in car park the rest of the stay. Plenty of room despite the height of summer, and there are overflow fields as required. Good toilets and sinks for washing up, and hot showers bring 50p’s. These are well used but never crowded. Highly recommended - we were back after a 20 year gap!
Stunning view, clean but basic camping facilities and a really peaceful location. Only stayed one night tent whilst Wainright bagging but will definitely be back. Range of great walks locally and two good pubs nearby for food and drink.
Great location, just off the Cumbria Way. Amazing views in all directions. We arrived at 8pm after walking all day. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful, found us a great spot for 3 tents. We had dinner at breakfast at the YHA next door which was recommended by the owners. Hot showers, clean facilities, everything we needed
