The Stirk House offers an experience like no other hotel in the Ribble Valley. It mixes 16th Century charm with luxurious classic interiors, creating a hotel & wedding venue that delights and exceeds expectations.

A tranqil setting for a perfect relaxing visit. Have been many times and love it there. The meals are always varied, well-presented, sufficient and excellently cooked. 
Breakfast is traditionally super.  Everything is on offer, from locally sourced meats to fresh fruit salad and juices.
My only complaint is the awfully weak coffee at breakfast.. and it's been like that for my last 3 visits.  Service can be quite slow too.
Altogether a great stay.

Restaurant was wonderful. We actually stayed in two different rooms. The first was lovely, the second left a lot to be desired. We also had a cleaner banging on the door an hour before check out, if we hadn't wanted breakfast we could have still been asleep at that time on a Sunday. Waiting staff were helpful and friendly in the restaurant although on the first night we waited so long to ask for our bill (before they had cleared out dessert plates or offered coffee) that we just left and went back to our room and they charged us at check out. Did not have the same issue on the Saturday, the restaurant was busier and there were more staff despite there being an event on at the bar/lounge area. Would stay again if they could guarantee our room number, would not pay to stay in the room we were given on the second night. Breakfast was good quality and a good variety of hot options, made to order.

Very pretty..driving up. Lovely inside, bit quiet   Restaurant inviting, warm, cozy. Starter really good.  Main course,  not so much.       I had duck - bit chewy, very little veg...a bit of rosti potato hard in the middle. No one asked if it was ok until we'd finished.

The food here is AMAZING. Quality drinks and excellent selections of whisky too. Can't fault the place. Such a nice setting and it is recently refurbished. We will be back for a quiet midweek drink soon.

Days ago Historic building in beautiful countryside has numerous bars ideal for weddings meal was fantastic staff excellent old style open log fire. Bar prices or not cheap but the atmosphere of the place makes them worth the price. It a fair distance to nearest small Village so Ideally you need a car as it's nearly a mile to nearest road from hotel.
