The all new spa which opened in January 2013 offers a mix of traditional and the
very latest therapeutic, cosmetic and relaxation treatments.

We are also home to the largest day spa in the North West occupying a fabulous
heat and ice journey in the new Thermal Suite.

I feel very lucky to have this fantastic spa just 15 minutes down the road.  
All the staff are so professional, all the time. 
The reception, treatment rooms and nail area, the spa facilities, and the changing rooms are always clean and really look the part. 
I was proud to bring my group of uni friends (from London, Leeds and Warrington) for a spa day and they all said it was the best spa they have ever been to and are desperate to go again. 
My grandma loves The Woodland Spa - she can’t stay away and always buys our family vouchers and Christmas presents from here. 
It can be tricky to get through on the phone sometimes because it is so popular - have patience and call again later... it is worth it!

This was our second visit, but it didn't live up to the first. The spa was fine for the most part, although we did have to endure a woman bursting the spots on her partner's back whilst in one of the pools. The meal we'd booked as part of the package spoilt the whole experience. I'd ordered the Thai risotto, but it was dreadful. The dish was tasteless and wasn't really a risotto at all. It was just rice in a watery broth. The contents of the risotto weren't as advertised. I was expecting broccoli, spring onions and mint amongst others - Instead, I got lots of large chunks of watery courgette and bitter green pepper. The waitress did offer to have another dish made, but by this time it was getting late and I was past it. The restaurant was also under-staffed so it was difficult to get any service even though the waitresses were working above and beyond the call of duty. Maybe it was just an off day, but the issues meant we left feeling less relaxed than when wed arrived.

Wonderful place. The spa is just fantastic with lots of areas to head of to and relax. The facilities were first class, along with the treatments.

The staff make this place what it is and nothing is too much trouble for them. They go above and beyond, are friendly and courteous.

The food is also fantastic. The restaurant produces so of the best food I've tasted.

Only downside, is that the view has been spoilt somewhat by a new development next door, so the tranquil setting is somewhat spoilt by the development being built. Other than that it's well worth a visit.

Already one review saying the same thing as I'm about to say. I bought a voucher for my daughter and partner £50. They haven't used it and the voucher expired 6 weeks ago. It's my daughter's 40th in march and I asked if the voucher could be used and I would purchase a meal for us which would  bring them extra money. The answer given is that it's management policy that once a voucher has expired there is no flexibility as the firm can't claim back the voucher. I asked who did I pay the money to in the first place. Of course it's the firm but something about claiming tax back!!!!. Allowing us the use of the facilities would not generate any money for them. Poor customer service!!

Great facilities, in particular I liked the serenity pool.  They are currently expanding their facilities however which is reflecting in the increased prices of late.  No noise disruption from this though and the food in Bertram's is tasty and classy.
