Avoid. Really filthy and smelly. Study space is a joke of a place. Poor lighting, no ventilation at all, smells like urine, very few table spaces, lacking sockets... This is why there's only pictures here on Google from the outside of the library, cause the inside is shocking.
Printing 12p per page is a good price. And 56p per page for color print.
We enjoy bringing the children to this branch as they are more family friendly than some other Hackney Libraries and they cater to the local communities' needs, so we feel very welcomed there. Staff are always eager to be helpful and do not mind being harassed by my five year old: The library is stocked with a fair amount of books and in the younger readers corner there are chairs and tables for smaller children to sit and do some colouring and reading, as well as a couple of armchairs for adults to use. They have computers but I've never used them so can't offer advice. They hold a lovely summer reading challenge program for children, with a different theme every year, and staff members put a lot of effort into making this a success. They also have free parking with a capacity for about 6 cars which is especially m invaluable if you visit by car between the hours of 10 and 12 as that is when the local CPZ operates. I would love to give it 5 stars but I don't feel that would be honest as the building is very dated and can do with some serious upgrading - for example there is no aircon and windows don't open wide so in the summer it can get quite stifling. Hopefully funds can be allocated for them to renovate, just like Clapton and Stoke Newington branches have.
Lovely, calm space with nice staff and a great selection of books, especially the Graphic Novel section
When I venture into the library, it's generally quiet. Sometimes, you can sit on the bench outside and use the WiFi.
The library upstairs is very quiet. However, the toilets are closed temporarily so if you need the loo you have to walk quite a while to the nearest public toilet and pay 20p. Apart from that it's perfect for quiet study.
All ok I mean too good for kids but I looking for all international language books... For myself
Small library with good collection of books meeting needs of all different communities in the area. I like a quality of the books for children and the variety in novels section. Above all it is just perfect for studying with a massive and quiet room on the first floor. Highly recommended!
The library lacks air conditioning for some reason so its always boiling hot and theres a really weird smell attached to the library apart from that it can be quiet sometimes...
Friendly staff, small and quiet. Government guidelines in place. Best little hiding place and very unassuming place. Do support your local libraries or we could still loose them...Think on it. Go check it out for yourself and be very surprised, bless
