A NEW LOW FOR SAINSBURY'S NINE ELMS - 22/01/26 - the main automatic door broken and wedged open like this for weeks now, both lifts out of order, disabled toilet out of order, mens toilet STANK, middle toilet blocked and full of turd plus blood all over the floor. Drops of blood all the way through the store and outside, a bit of blue roll over one and no-one doing anything about clearing it up.nnSince this much trumpeted 'Superstore' opened - the 2 really useful cashpoints at the top of the escalator taken away, the cafe closed, the Habitat store closed, the fish, hot, deli and bakery counters closed, the really useful pharmacy closed and most of the manned tills closed. The staff are depressed I speak to them, there's always a lift or an entrance door broken, the outside area never pressure washed and looks horribly dirty. The plants are never watered properly and are usually left to die. There are HUGE queues for the self service tills especially at the weekend and one or two poor staff members trying to manage it all. Always one or more of the weighing scales in fruit and veg not working, sometimes all 3, and usually one of the smartshop tills out of order. Never enough small trolleys especially at the weekend where there are none. Often one of the travelators won't be working. The disabled toilet when open which is rarely is usually is a horrible state but the mens toilet is far worse and smells absolutely terrible.nnIf often seen kids on bikes pulling wheelies up and down the travelators and round the ground floor area with nothing or no-one to stop them. Feels very unsafe.nnOn your way in to the store from Nine Elms station you're usually greeted with homeless guys crashed out by the door or asking for money, very persistent charity chuggers, Sainsbury's staff members stood around smoking and if it's been raining a drain has been blocked for years so there's a huge puddle to navigate. Spilt coffee, fag ends and everything looking grimy + horrible.nnTwo plus points the produce within the store is ok and largely speaking well stocked. I also very much appreciate the plastic bag recycling cage.nnAs a customer the experience of coming here which once was lovely get's worse and worse, this store is a giant cash cow with little regard for the shoppers, every possible cost saving measure has been taken with everything stripped to the bare bones. Very disappointing, especially for a business who made a fortune in the lockdowns and continues to make huge profits, to have no regard for their customers, only thinking about squeezing out ever more profit.
This store is, in general, great. It's big, has a great selection and is often not too busy. It's sad that, like many other stores, all the concessions and counters, such as deli and habitat, have been closed down though.nnThere seems to be a trend emerging of management and head office teams holding meetings in the most inconvenient places - like directly in front of the entry barriers, blocking aisles, etc. And rather than showing some self awareness, they stubbornly carry on chatting blissfully unaware that they're causing an obstruction.
Perfect place to shop anything and almost everything under one roof. Just opposite to Nine elms tube station. At a walkable distance from American embassy. Can be much more informative at the entrance if there are legends provided for different sections.
My daughter my grandson a jacket from Sainsbury’s Nine Elms in September of this year lovely jacket then last week the zip broke off, she went to Sainsbury’s to get an exchange and was met by a very dismissive and rude manager by the name of Maggie, my daughter had me on FaceTime so I was able to hear everything being said. Sainsbury’s has two policies one that you have 28 days from purchase to change your mindn2 if the item is faulty you have 12 months to return it, my grandson had the jacket for 6 weeks that’s it. My daughter couldn’t find the receipt but she used her nectar card to get points from it. Maggie was very patronising and condescending when speaking to my daughter she lacked de-escalation skills, I asked my daughter if she could let me speak to her Maggie refused to engage with me about the policies and kept referring to the 28 day policy instead of the faulty goods policy. She then walked off when my daughter asked her for a piece of paper she turned her back and walked away so my daughter said you’re being rude to me by walking away she Maggie continued walking away I was shocked I shop in Sainsbury’s all the time where I live and didn’t expect such disgusting customer service, Maggie walked away with the broken bit of the jacket and customer service told my daughter she has to call customer service to get a refund what the hell is that Sainsbury’s the utter lack of regard and respect for my daughter is mind blowing to me we are the customers that keep Sainsbury’s ticking if no one shops there people don’t have jobsnI’m disgusted and frustrated for my daughter meanwhile my grandson still needs a jacket
I was thoroughly impressed by the service at Sainsbury's. I entered the store with the intention of grabbing a few items, feeling quite dizzy from rushing around. I was delighted to find a few chairs conveniently placed near the checkout area. The security guard went above and beyond to assist me in connecting me to the Sainsbury's 02 network so I could easily hail a cab.
