Stayed for 1 night and it was a decent place to just sleep. Carpet had clearly been recently replaced. Sheets were clean and room was tidy. Bathroom was shared but while shabby around the edges was fine otherwise. The man at reception was polite and chatted with us on arrival. Unexpectedly had to put down £10 cash for key deposit which was not advertised in advance. The main downside was the lock to our room did not work properly and my friend and I decided to put a makeshift barrier up to keep the room secure overnight. It's a decent room for a cheap price. You get what you pay for.
The worse hotel ever, avoid at all costs, it’s a real dump! We booked the room way ahead, was shown down to the basement, the room was stinking from insect spray, there were bed bugs on the walls, it was not possible to sleep there, and they could not offer another room, so we just had to find another hotel. They refused to refound the room, so did the booking agency hotels.com, but luckily I paod by credot card, so got the money back eventually.
I would never advise someone to go to the Goodwood. On the first night we found black mold on the mattress. The replacement room we were offered had shell pieces from bed bugs so we decided to move hotels. Other downsides included the rooms not being completely clean, no source of cooling, and super steep stairs that made getting our cases up a struggle.
DO NOT…I say again…DO NOT stay at Goodwood Hotel!!!!! 100% UNPROFESSIONAL, UNTRUSTWORTHY, RUDE, UNRULY business establishment. In my 30+ years of traveling over 100 countries, I’ve never seen any hotel staff and manager like them. If you stay here for whatever reason, you will 100% regret because they will snap at you for a little things. Guaranteed! The manager, Ali Kareem, who was at his own home, cancelled my reservation only because I asked the front desk person why early check-in at a reasonable time was not allowed despite available rooms. The manager, Ali Kareem, called Expedia and told them that my reservation could not be “honored” by him and, therefore, cancelled my reservation. The front desk person yelled at me “get out!” and threatened to call the police. On top of that, he made fun of me with making derogatory comments and facial expressions. However, he assured me that my reservation was secure. That was a total lie because right after I left, the manager called Expedia as explained before. I found the same type of B&B next door at a cheaper rate with early check-in, if room is available. There are other much BETTER options available nearby. Why would you want to stay at Goodwood Hotel? Please don’t. There’s is nothing “good” about this hotel. Stay away from Goodwood Hotel for your own sanity sake. I genuinely want to save you from going through unnecessary inconveniences and hardship instead of enjoying London. You will thank me later. The above recommendation is coming from a very seasoned global traveler.
It's a 2* Hotel, so expect a 2* Hotel !! I just can't understand lots of the negative reviews on this property and staff. Staff were very friendly Rooms are small with a small wetroom, small tv, and basic beds. Exactly what you should expect when you choose to book a 2* Hotel. If you're looking for faults, cos it's not perfect, why are you booking a 2* Hotel in the first place, get a life. 10 mins from Euston Station. About 15 mins walk to Oxford Street. Nice breakfast on the next corner Valencia Cafe I got everything I expected when booking this 2* Hotel. It was a cheap night in London in a great location. Hence, 4/5
I would never advise anyone to go to this place. Worst experience ever. I stayed for 3 nights in october without the heater, they will keep saying it’s on. Staff weren’t friendlyRooms: 1/5
Not a place to stay in at all would not recommend require a deposit if the keys are lost which is not stated at time of booking and cash only. Stairs very narrow bathroom can't even call it that was full of mould
We got tiny room with 3 separate beds. Everything was clean and worked as expected. TV remote was missing, maybe should have asked. Bathroom was miniature not for large person. One clerk was very nice. Exchanged our towels when asked. Another guy requested deposit for room keys which we lost because we had to leave very early in the morning. The location is not bad. Because of London traffic Uber or Taxi would take somewhere between 30 - 40 minutes to get to centre. Do not get room facing the street. It is very loud at night .
Sadly the pictures advertised are not what you find when you arrive. The rooms that have previously been refurbished were clearly nice back then but have not been looked after and the result is very poor now. The mirror was missing, lamp shades damaged and dirty, drink splashed up the walls, plaster missing from parts of the wall. Our bathroom was from the 1950s and again poorly maintained. The mattress was cheap and lumpy. Despite paying for 2 nights we opted to pay for a different Hotel. There are much nicer hotels in the area for the same money.
Location was fine enough but the manager is unfriendly and rude. Be aware he will tell you someone is at reception 24/7 to recover your key deposit but this is a lie. Other staff informed us there is no one there early in the morning and we discovered this when we left. Bathroom was barely passable, and room was small. Book any other room along this street full of 2 and 3 star hotels, to avoid this manager who unfortunately does not like his job and takes it out on his guests and staff.
