We were very happy with our recent 3 night stay. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The buffet style breakfast in the basement was amazing. The room was spacious enough and reasonably sound proof. Do keep in mind that there is no elevator/lift to the basement or upper floors. The staff was able to book us on the ground floor with only a few weeks' notice since we were lugging heavy suitcases. This older hotel is within easy walking distance of the train stations, bus stops and the underground. Walkability: Close to all public transport Food & drinks: Great buffet breakfast with helpful staff to assist with seating
Location: The hotel is situated in a quiet, nice area with local pubs, shops, and coffee just around the corner. The underground and major train stations are so close that it won't take you long to get anywhere, even outside of London! There's a lovely park right across the road too! Service: all the employees are wonderful and happy to help you any way they can. My room was always tidied everyday with fresh towels and they provided prompt service at breakfast. By booking online directly from their website, you can get breakfast included at your stay which I was always satisfied with. Full English buffet, with cereals and toast as well. And a coffee machine or tea. You get so much! Room: it was just me staying so my room was small and in the summer it can get quite hot but with the window cracked it wasn't too bad and i wasnt in there the whole day. The rooms are clean and neat, and I never heard the sounds of other ppl in their rooms. Great stay!
Cute little privately run hotel. The rooms are on the smaller side but definitely workable. Very high ceilings. I have some minor complaints being that the outlets are in the other side of the room from the bed, I can hear people walk above me, and I asked the front desk to tell the cleaning staff to not clean my room, but that request wasn't heeded. The last one is annoying because it's perfectly in their power to do.
I stayed here one night due to the location. For the price, the room left a lot to be desired. I booked a single room and it was tiny. Because I booked directly on their site, breakfast was included, which was okay—basic but decent tasting. Pros - my room and bathroom were clean including bedsheets and towel. The mattress was comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly. Entry into the hotel is secured. Shower water pressure was strong. Cons/Suggestions - no lift and very narrow stairwells, shower took about 5 or more minutes to heat up but got hot, no place to keep luggage so I piled it all on the 1 chair and the tiny “table”, couldn’t regulate room temperature, consider providing 2 towels even for a single room For the price of a single room, I’d book a private room in a nearby hostel to have more space and socialize. Rooms: Very small and bare Safety: I walked around alone. The hotel door is only opened by code or front desk staff buzzes you in. Walkability: Easily walk to nearby bus stops or underground station. I walked back at night as a solo female and was fine Food & drinks: Breakfast buffet had a variety of food and hot and cold drink options
The blond hair receptionist with braces is so rude and needs to sort her attitude out. You can't be having someone like her at the receptionist if she can't show professionalism and good mannerism. If she is having a bad day don't come to work with that kind of attitude as working in a hotel is all about good customer service.
Quiet hotel, very clean, near king's cross station, quiet neighbourhood, good breakfast, housekeeping daily. Storages is a little small for 5 people in one room. But all is perfect, we recommend.Rooms: 5/5
I enjoyed my stay very much. The hotel is simple but cozy. The real gem of the hotel is Natalia and the breakfast staff. Natalia was concerned about my problem with the tv not woking in my room and solved it quickly. The breakfast staff is very friendly and efficient. I had a problem with my TV in my room and I reported it to the reception. A young man told me to wait 20 minutes. I waited 45 minutes and went back down to the reception. His answer: wait 20 minutes and I will go up to watch your TV. The first two days of my stay I had no TV in my room. By the way, the hotel is very conveniently located between St Pancras, Russell square with shops, cafes and restaurants nearby. I will definitely return to Mentone hotel when I return to London.
Booked for 3 nights. What we liked: Location: it was a 5-10 minute walk from Euston and King's Cross stations, very convenient walking distance when you are carrying luggage. Check-in: While initially I was told they don't do early check-ins, we arrived early and were allowed an earlier check-in which worked wonderfully for us as we wanted to relax a bit and leave for an event we had planned for. Breakfast: I liked the food very much, especially the mushrooms, and the bacon, my friend was not impressed with the variety/taste of the food. Sleeping: Very very comfortable beds, very good night's sleeps. What we didn't like: Bathroom: I understand wanting to maintain a bootique look, but access to the bathroom was bothersome in our room as the door could barely open to let a person in, even my friend who is a regular sized person weight-wise had to squeeze herself in cause the door could not be fully opened. The extraction fan which we discovered exists purely by accident was placed at a height of 2 meters, stretch for it or get on the bed to turn it on ?. Towels: The room only had 2 "large" towels and 1 towel that had to be placed on the bathroom's floor right outside the shower as water would literally go everywhere after the shower was used. I had requested extra towels at the reception twice, talked to 2 different receptionists that I even saw them make note of it.. we never got our extra towels.
We had an amazing stay at menton hotel ! The rooms are small but it gets the job done and everything is clean. The stairs are quite steep but all necessities are available. It's perfectly situated in a calm neighborhood, 8 mins walk from the St Pancras train station. The breakfast is simple but very good and has a good selection. Bonus points for the wonderful receptionist ! A ray of sunshine in London clouds
This is no good value for money, the beds are in terrible condition, the pillows are not comfortable. Heat is on a schedule so it turns off automatically in the middle of the night, horrible if you get cold easily. Wifi is bad. Breakfast is only OK because of a couple of items, the bacon for example was only good one day, the other days it was super salty, the coffee tasted bad unless you added lots of milk and sugar, bread is bad quality. Service is regular, our train was super early and they didn't offer any bread or similar to go. I wouldn't go back. Rooms: Small and noisy Nearby activities: Lots of nearby bus stops and underground stations Walkability: No lift Food & drinks: Regular breakfast
