Let's start with the good elements, the staff were very friendly, can't fault them at all. Food was rather expensive and very average. The one star was given purely on the quality standard of the room, which was simply awful. The bedding didn't smell fresh although it may have been, the room had a very distinct odour which I'm not able to describe other than it was not very pleasant. My room wasn't cleaned whilst staying, only two days but that isn't the point. The bathroom, that's another story. Very small and extremely basic, with no storage for anything at all. The bath was chipped and marked, the silicone needed replaced. The hotel held it's first weeding on the Saturday, the music was supposed to stop at midnight but went on until about 00:30 and very load. I was on the second floor could here it and my friend was on the fourth, who could also here it very clearly. The overall experience was not a good one, the photos of the rooms must be a selected few rooms, probably won't be the room you get. My recommendation would be not to stay here, try anywhere else but not here.
Very old hotel. That means it has history, which is really cool. It also means that you can hear everything above you, next to you and below you. Room is small and sloped downward. They are doing construction on the outside of the hotel so there is scaffolding all over the outside.Rooms: 3/5
The hotel is covered in scaffolding and green netting at the moment, which doesn't give it much appeal . Our room is o.k but needs some TLC. The service from the staff is very good and the meals have all been excellent . The hotel is in a good location too, but could do with some internal renovation. Great food though.Rooms: 3/5
A very standard old hotel. We asked to change room because the first one was like a cupboard! Very helpful receptionist who helped us out. Good location but limited parking. Expensive for all it was. Food & drinks: Great food nearby.
great hotel staff very friendly nothing a bother food excellent huge portion our room on 5th floor with sea view was lovely although there was scaffolding up but did not stop view would recommend itRooms: 5/5
The Room was in need of some decorating but very clean . Staff were very helpful and the food was lovely dinner bed and breakfast for £59 pp was worth every penny Rooms: 4/5
Enjoyed the experience, everything was good and the food was excellent, hot, clean, and the staff were very friendly.Rooms: 5/5
We stayed here due to unforeseen circumstances and the manager John and one of his staff who was running night shift on the night that we arrived into Oban apologies for not remembering his name, they went ABOVE and BEYOND for myself, my partner, and our 3 year old daughter - they allowed us to stay in one of their rooms last minute and were so empathetic and kind to us as we hadn't been able to find anywhere else to stay that evening. If it wasnt for them both we would have had to sleep in our truck that's the honest truth, what they did was what you'd expect from people back in the 80s, just salt of the earth type of individuals that had good hearts and helped us so much much - making the start of our holiday such a relief. Thank you x Iris, Fraser, Mihi
Rooms and the hotel in general was extremely dated with limited storage in the room. In my twin single room, the bed was uncomfortable and the room was small. Good bar, but again outdated.
Hotel is being refurbished but rooms are clean and warm, beds comfortable. Staff are lovely and very efficient.Rooms: 4/5
