Really enjoyed our visit here. We went for Sunday lunch. Set in a lovely location. I rang to book at 3.30pm and a friendly member of staff took our booking for 6pm. We arrived and was shown to our table. All the staff was smiley and friendly. They pointed out to us the specials board, Sunday dinner board and desserts. We stuck with ordering the Sunday lunch and it was a winner. Piping hot, fresh and very tasty. We asked for a jug of extra gravy, as we like a lot. Portion size was rather large. Not complaining but glad we didn't opt for a starter. Perfect. There was room for dessert gotta be done after Sunday lunch we opted for blackcurrant pie and ice cream. Oh so yummy! Was a nice and peaceful atmosphere. No music which we like. Would definitely visit here again. Especially to try the other items on the menu as it all sounded so delicious. Can't wait. Parking: Great parking
Good food with a full menu, makes a change from all the limited menus around at present. Been coming here for years - never been disappointed Parking: Plenty of parking in car park next to pub, and road
Excellent service, excellent food, good choice of beers, lagers, ciders and spirits. The soup and roast beef dinner was to die for. An absolutely delicious array of desserts and puddings also. Well worth a visit.
Great, has an old pub feel atmosphere, excellent selection of meals, good choice on specials board, staff friendly and efficient...a little hidden gemFood: 4/5
Had a lovely time and meal at Ribye Arms, not been for a few years, hasn't changed, still a lovely 'proper bub', cosy and can't fault the food, so nice, lovely owner and staff, well worth a visit, will be back again soon, check out the menu, proper Lancaster and proper Game, as well as pub grub. Kid-friendliness: Very good.
We've eaten here on several occasions and always excellent. A great menu and always some really tasty specials as well. Parking: Plenty of parking right outside
Great place. Friendly staff decent amount of parking. Good selection of drinks. Big selection of starters which is rare, massive selection of mains including a game menu which is great for a country pub/restaurant. Definitely not a pub that does a bit of food. Great service and food vwas very decent and was quick to arrive Prices are reasonable not cheap but not overly expensive so just about right. Went for a friend's reunion and they were happy for us to be seated for 30 mins plus and after our food which was nice. Took a booking although it wasn't packed when we went. Overall would definitely recommend a quintessential Lancashire country Inn and eatery.
Stopped for lunch after not visiting for some time. This pub used to be worth traveling for, we have had some excellent meals there in the past. The pub was a bit cold, a big old fire would have been great. Service was great, the starter, not so much, but it was taken away quickly without argument, an not charged for. The mains were excellent, and could not be faulted. One constant however was the quality of the beer. Landlord was excellent, and at £4 a pint, very reasonable. Will go again, if the heating is on and the starter somewhat better, the Rigbye Arms would deserve 5*.
1st time visit and was meet with a friendly family atmosphere, very helpful and clean inside. Food was delicious and a generous portion, we will definitely be going again.
As we had left planning a Sunday family meal till last minute, we were not too hopeful of getting a table but were able to accommodate at last minute without booking ahead. On arrival found that there was clearly a staffing issue as took a while to get menus and a drinks order. The specials menu looked promising however maybe a little too much choice. Although reasonably priced and couldn’t fault the flavours when they finally arrived. Would be interested to see what the place was like during a less busy period as I imagine the kitchen probably Doesn’t experience a busy rush period too often due to its location. Would be worth the drive out but would make sure to ring ahead unlike us. Staff were very helpful and did everything they could to manage the situation well. Children’s menu was also great value and great atmosphere. Would’ve given more stars if the menu was smaller and more concise, maybe needs a slight refreshment to bring into 21st century but overall a great pub for a bite to stop if passing.
