Welcoming place, nice staff, ample parking. The menu seems to give enough choice to cater for all. I was intrigued by the Sunday Roast with roulade, described as a sponge holding in brie and cranberry centre. The end product was very different though and it didn't feel like a good alternative to the meat one. The kids pasta meal had a thick sauce on top with nothing blended into the pasta. We had to add ketchup to make it easier to eat. Sadly, food quality below the standard of most other places so wouldn't return. It's a shame really as it's a lovely place. *Edit to answer your question: To make it better I would improve the quality of the food. I would look at different versions of tomato pasta bake and other foods and modify yours to suit those others. It could be a cooking/staff training issue. It certainly shouldn't be dry. For the vegetarian roast, I would change the description on the menu to better suit the product given, but also add stuffing and a soya product sausages or pie to it as a filling alternative to chicken.
Only had drinks. Lovely, welcoming pub. Large place. Clean. Friendly staff. Sold carlsberg so 5/5 for me.
Popped in late in the evening for a quick meal. Food was fabulous and the staff are pleasant but was a bit weird having the staff vacuum while we are dining and drinking. Other than that it was perfect so maybe wait until all guests have left before deciding to vacuum.
Ordered our food and the service is great. Could not fault the staff or the customer service. Had an issue with my meal so it had to go back and my hubby had finished his by the time mine hot back. They asked if refund was required I said no just give him a dessert while I am eating. They did that and refunded my meal. Thank you very much for the great customer service.
After a very long day on the road . We stop for a drink and food. So only two stars because beer was off . Service at the very slow it was not busy. I was the only person at the bar , I would say a lot more training is required. Food was ok we both had fish and chips one meal hot one meal cool.
Visited today.. bang average if not below average food. Tough beef on the roast, mash clearly out of a packet, veg looked stale. Chocolate fudge cake was stale. Not nice at all. Sticky tables. Only positive was nice polite staff.
Awful food, sent my Steak back 3 times and it was still not cooked properly. Seems like all they do is Microwave the food. It’s cheap food but be aware that nothing will be fresh. Also, I don’t know why maybe understaffed but there was a big queue for drinks with what looked like young College Students struggling to serve customer while a woman, who I can only imagine to be the manager, stood there and watched while the queue got longer and she never lifted a finger to help. I am not blaming the young girls who went out there way for me and my Girlfriend but when service needs helping out, HELP OUT! In summary, avoid like the plague. Bad management and bad food.
Clean, cheerful pub with nice staff and great food. Their beers are always good too so they obviously keep their pipes clean. Cheaop and cheerful, nice surroundings. Recommended
Stayed at the Premier Inn next door and opted for the cooked breakfast. Half of the items on the menu weren't available and they left us waiting to place our order for half an hour. In the end, we had to collar someone to place our order. It wasn't very busy, so unsure why this happened. Service was slow, facilities were below par and I don't think I'll return nor recommend.
The food was nice and most of the staff were friendly and helpful just a shame our waitress couldn't find her smile and expected us to be mind readers
