Staff was very friendly and helped us get a taxi to an activity outside of the city center. The room was alright and the bed was fairly comfortable, but it was in need of some modern updates. I hated that the toilet was in a separate room next to the bathroom. Being in there with the door closed was claustrophobic and the toilet flush was so loud. They tout sustainability all over the hotel and it's admirable they are making these strides. For each day you hang a tag on your door to not service your room, they give you a $5 credit to the hotel bar. An easy sustainability initiative would be to add a vegan breakfast. We had to go elsewhere for breakfast because there were no options for me. The hotel location was central to our activities which was nice. Not the fault of the hotel, but construction was going on near door to the hotel and woke us up two of the days we were there. If we had known that before booking, we would not have booked there.
I stayed for three nights while attending a conference and found the proximity to Charing Cross Station, Glasgow, very convenient. The breakfast was great with a huge variety of options to choose from. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean, though the bathroom set-up was unusual toilet in one closet, shower and sink in another. Lots of outlets, good natural light. Would have liked an option to turn on the AC, but having a window that opened was a good alternative. Walkability: Easy to get to Charing Cross Station, Glasgow
Disappointed with our stay - on arrival no mention of construction works. Walked into room to be faced with a large crane directly out of the window. No privacy due to workmen. Very noisy from the building works. Spoke to reception staff who assured that no works happen on a Sunday only to be woken at 7am by the construction site. When spoke again to different staff they had a different story and said no work should have started until 9am except we were woken at 7am. Considering we booked directly with hotel it is sad no one mentioned the works. Very disappointed as we paid a decent price for one night. Also rooms are outdated we stayed on 4th floor. Toilet was not great. A partial refunded would have been nice if offered when we were checking out and informing staff of our disappointment but staff just smiled.
A nice stay in Glasgow. The staff was always confused with whatever we needed and the battle against the elevator algorithms was not easy, but we managed. Rooms were fine and the breakfast menu was satisfying.Rooms: 4/5
We stayed here in February on a family holiday. Staff were friendly, and I will say David the receptionist definitely deserves a promotion. Before we arrived, he was super helpful and helped to amend our booking due to change in flight date. Room was clean and the housekeepers worked hard to keep it clean. The sofa bed could have been better though but I guess sofa bed aren't as comfy as standard bed. Good range of breakfast and enough food for everyone even to the last minute of breakfast time. The gym has Modern equipment and was not busy. The hotel is a walking distance to bus stops, shops and restaurants. We will definitely stay here again.
Pros: close to several bus lines, including the airport express. Large, comfortable beds. Deep tub. Close to Smile Cafe, for excellent coffee. Later check out time noon. Shampoo, shower gel and soap in the bathroom. Front desk has dental kits. Coffee to brew in the room. Cons: the hotel is literally surrounded by noisy, intense construction. The streets out front and to the sides are a mess; if you're walking from Glasgow Central know you'll have to go up and around to access the hotel. The toilet is separate from the shower, normally a plus in my book, but the sink is in the room with the shower, meaning you have to wash your hands separately. I don't need AC -- Glasgow is cool and comfortable -- but opening the window for air means NOISE early from construction.
Currently there are a lot of works happening on and around the hotel so access is limited and noise isn't great! Toilet is separate to the bathroom so not particularly pleasant. Rooms were adjoining so I had the pleasure of listening to a couple shouting at each other at all hours and doors slamming all night. Rooms were well equipped with iron, hair dryer etc. Complimentary water and a fridge. Plenty of space for working, couch and desk. Lift to the garage was broken so a pain to get in and out of there. Only one lift working so a long wait if you're on the higher floors. £8 charge each exit Staff were great
I am forced to give a one star as I could not give zero. Worst hotel that I have ever been to. The mattress was threadbare and there was no extra pillows provided. The bathroom didn’t have shower gel/soap or body lotion. Except for the location, there’s nothing good about the hotel, hence I gave a one star. Definitely not worth the money. Breakfast was not included for that price. This hotel should feature as a one star hotel. Anna at the front desk was helpful.
We stayed here for 1 night to go to a Gig nearby. The location was perfect. The hotel exceeded expectations in comfort and professionalism. The room was large and comfy with good facilities. The hotel bar is lovely and has a good atmosphere that evening. Plenty of places to eat nearby. The parking nearby is only £8 for 24 hours of you ask reception to validate your ticket too.
This hotel's location in the heart of the city is why I chose to stay here. But we weren't informed about the surrounding construction site's continuous activities when we arrived. Due to late-night construction and boisterous visitors running and shouting down the hallways, we had to change rooms twice. When it came to trying to change the unpleasant atmosphere of the hotel, the staff was quite helpful. Maybe the hotel should close or disclose the ongoing construction to customers when they make a reservation. It wasn't worth the money wouldn't stay again.
