Very helpful staff. I think the ac unit was outside our window, but we got used to it! Our view was the wall of the building next door, but then we only used it as a base to visit family, so not a problem for us. Walkability: It's up hill from the central station.
Great location with discounted rate for parking in multi story opposite. Hotel is clean and comfortable. Friendly helpful staff, especially Ludmila who is a real credit to this hotel. We didn't have breakfast but did have our dinner in the bar cafe. Food was good and service was excellent. Will definitely stay here again and happy to recommend.
Like every other Travelodge, it’s the worst but at least you get your own bathroom! Even if it looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in ages At least the staff is really nice
Shabby room, with unwelcome present left in the toilet bowl. Room very dated, with paint peeling off the bathroom door and mould round the bath. The single gent on duty was first class, so no complaint about the staff. Location not great. Disappointed after my stay in the first class Manchester Picadilli Travellodge.Rooms: 3/5
Got the super saver 'premium' deal. Bed bed and pillows medium firm and room size adequate. Bed was like sleeping in a wrestling ring over night. Up close, some stains on bedding and room a little dusty. Good welcome from young lad on reception, not so much when leaving the following morning aside from a blank stare when handing the key card back to the member of staff. An acknowledgement would have been nice. The water system in the room and neighbouring rooms makes this horrible thudding noise on and off whenever a tap/shower is in use on or a toilet is flushed. If you're trying to catch some shut eye in the late evening/early morning this really isn't great. Not just that but there seemed to be alot of activity in the hallway late on in the evening after midnight. Sounded like it was possibly hotel staff. Not sure what would be an absolute necessity to do at that time! Then from 6am onward you have people banging around again I assume going down for breakfast. Also noise from neighbouring office building, sounded like some kind of air conditioning system placed on the outside of the building that hummed away constantly. This wouldn't be my first choice to stay here again. I've stayed at Travel Lodges in the past and this is probably the worst of the bunch. My stay was during the week as well so you can only imagine the weekend being much worse with folk being drunk etc.
Absolutely disgusting. Found hair on my towels, hair in the bath, and a hair on the bathroom ceiling. The building is so dated. There isn't even a socket near the bed to charge your phone. When I was looking for a socket around my bed I found paper/rubbish under my mattress. Never again will I stay there. Rooms: So dated and dirty
I was quite disappointed with this hotel. When we arrived there was "something" still floating in the ensuite loo. Which suggested that cleaning had not been thorough. The room smelled fusty. The remote control battery for the TV didn't have a cover so kept falling out. One of the lamps but the bed made an electrical humming sound when used. Breakfast was "ok". Won't stay again. This stay was part of a refund given as a gesture after a previous bad experience in another Travelodge and so it's only reinforced my dislike of the chain unfortunately.
The location is very close to a lot of restaurants, which is why we chose it. We also like to walk, so we didn't mind strolling around Glasgow while we were there. We stayed for 8 nights, and had absolutely no issues. It is very cheap, but you get a lot more than what you pay for in my opinion. Clean bed, clean rooms, clean shower. Although the soap kinda sucks, but most people bring their own anyway! The staff were very friendly, especially the red haired lady and blonde haired lady. I really need to check peoples names so I can mention them by name! We also went to the restaurant and I have to say, for such a budget hotel. Their restaurant is great. The flatbread pizza and the wholefood salad with chicken was really tasty, had no heaviness at all and tasted very fresh. The two cooks we had too, were very friendly, kind and checked to make sure we were happy. Definitely recommend : Rooms: Clean and warm. Nearby activities: Some great restaurants! Safety: They lock the doors at 10pm, so I had no worries. Food & drinks: The food was much better than anticipated! Noteworthy details: The lift kind of sounds terrifying though haha
£80 with breakfast for a Thursday night for 2 in March 2024. Arriving on a cold wet evening, we were met by two delightful young men on reception who were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is located 7 minute walk to the main Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and 15 minutes walk from the Wallace Studio. It is about 2 minutes from sauchihall street. Our room 110 was a small family room. The room was clean and really warm as the wall heater on making it super toasty. The controls worked well. The view was of a brick wall and they covered the window with film, but when you opened it there was a ledge with an old sandwich and cigerette ends out there it could really do with a clean up! Every wall, corridor ceiling ect was covered in artex, which dates the hotel and the lifts were a bit scruffy. The bathroom had one of those tiny half baths, the hand wash was fixed above a shelf with not much room to get your hand under the nozzle and the toilet flush was behind your back - all very odd. There were no pillow cases or protectors on the spare pillows and the remote control for the tv had no back and a battery missing. But the towels were soft and fluffy the bed was clean and fresh. We both slept really well as the beds were comfy and its nice and quiet. The communal areas were light and modern. We did not try the bar as unfortunately being in Scotland there is a minimum price for alcohol units so a glass of wine was £7, plus there wasn't anything gluten free on the evening food menu. The following morning there is no gluten free toast but they do have gluten free cornflakes. It also said there was quorn sausages and there wasnt any there either. There was fruit, yoghurt, croissants, bagels, cereals, different milks, toast, beans hash browns, pork sausage, bacon, warm uncooked tomatoes, dried mushrooms, solid scrambled egg and potato scones farls; along with juice tea/coffee. Again the staff were really helpful and happy which was lovely. Would I stay here again? Yes I would, it may be a 2 star hotel, but the staff were so nice it would be hard not to?
Big thanks for Glasgow Travelodge, and especially for Jack, the front desk guy. Check in was without issue. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The location is ideal, though there is some construction of the main street not the fault of Travelodge. Breakfast was perfect, having a good meal and plenty of it. Jack did me a solid by printing out our bus and ferry tickets at the front desk. Travelodge earned this review because they were great.
