Not great. Sales staff entirely disinterested. One moving vehicles on the forecourt decided to head back inside rather than asking if I was interested in anything. They are consistent as a brand, similar experience of missing sales staff at other branches. Vehicles are desirable so no shortage of takers happy to do the running. If you want to buy one of their cars go online to the website, it probably has chatbots more helpful than the humans at this branch.
I have the misfortune of owning an Evoque which is a little over three years old. The car has made a knocking noise on and off for a couple of years and has visited the dealership on three occasions to have the problem dealt with. On those visits the car has had work done on the suspension, drive line and drive shaft. Now that the car is just out of warranty it needs a new engine and seemingly the knocking noise that was never properly dealt with has nothing to do with the problem. One time that I collected the car, a former employee, of which there seem to be many, was actually under the car listening to the “fixed” noise on the forecourt. Customer service at this dealership simply doesn’t exist. You chase and chase and chase and nobody takes ownership of anything. Staff will say anything to get rid of you and the dealership management don’t even know the names of the customer facing / reception staff, something that the dealerships own Head of Business seemed to think is acceptable as I discovered to my horror on a Teams call earlier this week. A call, I asked to be recorded but as they set up the call, they forgot to do this. I’m in the position that Jaguar Landrover have offered 80 percent towards the repairs, but I still need to contribute over £3600 while the dealership takes no responsibility at all. I’m now at a point where I must pay up or stay without a car while I raise a Statutory Quality Dispute. Needless to say, there are no courtesy vehicles available, but that’s no surprise when you read the other reviews on here. The person who handles social media responses for the John Clark group has been copied on the email trail regarding this for a full month, thus far I’ve heard nothing from her or the wider management team.
Avoid! Scammers! Had my Range Rover for MOT came back with advisories such as oil leak in gearbox and and damaged suspension pipe . Was quoted over £2500 for PIPE.Afterwards took car to 2 independent car garages one of them was range rover specialist and both confirmed no oil leak in gearbox and no damage to the suspension pipe!!! Scammers! Will report to trading standards!!
In all my years of dealing with car retailers this is by far the worst experience! AVOID AT ALL COST!!! Zero Stars We purchased a Land Rover evoque, after having this only a few months we were experiencing technical issues. So we took it back so they would be able to rectify the issue. They said they could not identify any issues. After dealing with these cowboys wouldn't surprise me if they hadn't even looked at the car! During the dry weather we never had any issues once we started to get into the more wetter weather we started to get the same technical issues. We got JLR roadside assist involved they identified that it was a faulty seal in the review camera and faulty fuse board seal in the main engine compartment. Took it to Pentland Stirling and they said it was "water increase" and tried to charge us £1800. I refused to pay this, Pentland service department and after sales department were no assistance whatsoever, worst customer care I have ever experienced, they are a disgrace to the JLR brand! I got in contact with client care JLR who are what you expect from JLR, nothing but pure professionalism! Darcy who was dealing with my case was unbelievable, she said that JLR will cover all the costs for the repair and not to worry, she will deal with the Pentland Stirling. Pentland Stirling then contact saying they require the courtesy car back as it's not a warranty case, I asked when would our car be ready and they said we don't know useless so they were going to leave us without a car. Again, I contact the amazing Darcy, who took care of hiring us a car until ours was fixed. While waiting for the repair to be carried out, there was no contact for the service department I had to constantly phone them for updates, we were told it would be ready in the next day or 2. Then on my next call I was informed they had ordered the wrong part. In total we wait just over 6weeks for the repair to be carried out. If I hadn't contact client care JLR uk nothing to do with Pentland Stirling I would've been without a car for over 6weeks and a £1800 bill to deal with! I would 100% say to anyone wanting to buy a Jaguar or Land Rover to avoid this retailer at all cost!!! I would happily buy a Jaguar or Land Rover as the UK Client Care were outstanding!!! Just stay clear of this retailer!!!
Completely let down by this branch, our discovery has an intermitting fault to which they thought they had resolved but then went to start our car and it didn't start but yet instead of diagnosing there and then when the fault happened they left it sitting idle for the weekend so of course the car started and fault was missed because they were "flat out" we have been told to pick our car up because they can not diagnose fault and will have to live on edge until it happens again with two young kids in the car which it has happened every time they have been present in car, also of course the warranty runs out in May so now the fear of being hit with a massive bill when it happens again because we haven't even had the car 4 months and has already happened 4 times. Stay clear of this Branch and land rovers.
I have reported all the issues about the car several times. They booked me in for 3 times and cancelled them all last minute. Then the 4th time, I took the car to the service. They sent me emails to authorise, I did immediately. After 5 days they didn’t provide a courtesy car, they said all has been fixed and charged me about £3.000. After paying and getting in the car, seeing half of the job wasn’t even done! When I spoke to a person who says he is the front house manager, his attitude was so arrogantly rude! When I ask questions he says he didn’t know etc. They didn’t even accept that it was their mistake! Ridiculous, unprofessional, worthless service! AVOID
Absolutely shocking customer service from this garage! AVOID!!! Aftersales and service department more or less non existent. Won’t return calls, lies being told to cover there tracks. Car booked in for repairs and cancelled. Shocking behaviour from a so called “Luxury car dealer” Won’t be back!
I'll start by saying this dealership are beyond abysmal. Having booked my Discovery 5 in for a service and warranty repairs, having told them 3 weeks in advance of what warranty issues were it was no surprise to find upon collection that the paid for service work had been done but none of the warranty work had been carried out. Seven weeks later when they could do the warranty work I went to collect the car only to be told they couldn't find anything wrong, this was despite the tailgate clearly being inoperative and the rattle from the catalytic convertor being blatantly apparent, their service manager having been dragged outside to witness same and agree that attendance at their body shop and parts required. A further 8wks on and I had yet to hear from them and chased them up, despite saying they would call back another 8 days down the line I'm yet to hear from them. This is why JLR get such an awful reputation! I shall modify this review to note that having contacted the respondent from Pentland as requested 2 days have now gone by and nobody has contacted me.
Visited here to enquire about purchasing a new Defender. Had the worst experience i’ve had from a dealership. The salesman who spoke to us had absolutely no interest in selling a car or answering our queries about spec and features. I felt looked down on as an inconvenience rather than a customer. His attitude was appalling and when we tried to ask questions regarding the vehicles lead time and order process it was as if he was trying to get rid of us. Apparently there was “no point” in him looking at stock available and information on the Pentland website is a waste of time. Absolutely the opposite of helpful!! I went the following weekend to a Lookers Land Rover dealer instead and ordered my new 24 Plate Defender. Service there was night and day to Pentland Stirling and would never recommend anyone to visit this dealership.
*UPDATE* someone got in contact to investigae further, been a month with nothing else. The branch called and said car was due MOT and service and they offered courtesy car service if i booked it with them courtesy car that was not available when car would be in for over a month for warranty repair. Mucked around for simple warranty claim. No communication whatsoever wouldnt give courtesy car even though they said they needed the car for nearly a month as they didnt have time to fix. Submitted a complaint nearly a month ago with no response. Will 100% never be back to this branch. Avoid
