Made an appointment today. Had to say what school uniform I wanted before arriving yet they had a really poor selection of sizes. Walked out with a jumper and a tie. The girl helping us was lovely and not her fault. Member of staff front of house was complaining to another customer that my partner arrived at 4. 20 our appointment time time because they shut at five. No the service I remember to be honest. Kudos to the young girl that helped us because she was lovely.and very helpful but poor selection and being complained about, not customer service
After reading quite a big amount of reviews from unhappy customers I was a bit worried when we turned at the shop with my daughter an hour earlier than our appointment. The lady at the entrance checked our information and changed our appointment time to be seem straight away. She called one of the young girls who worked there to help us to sort out the compulsory uniform with logos for my daughter. The name of the girl was Tash and she was extremely helpful and friendly. My daughter had to try a couple of different sizes and Tash would be constantly somewhere around the changing room bringing her clothes. We managed to buy everything on this day and I just went to buy a couple of spare skirts without logos from M&S. Tash even told us, that if any of the items wouldn’t be available on the day, she would order them for us. Probably, customers who were not happy with the service and choice were not very lucky for some reason. When I had to order the school uniform via school website, I had to order it in June and wait for a couple of months until September, so I can’t complain about anything - good choice, friendly and helpful staff, fast service.
Would like to give zero stars! My child starts school in 4 days time on 5 September. I ordered his school uniform from Monkhouse on 18 July. I still don’t have his uniform. Absolutely disgusting, shocking customer service and they really couldn’t care less!
Firstly I bought a blazer online, the size ended up being too small my fault I asked to exchange in the shop which they said no and I had to send it back and wait 14 days for a refund. I then made an appointment to go in and buy another blazer which is miles too big so I made a phone call today to see if I could go in to exchange to the smaller size to which they reply we don’t do in store exchanges you will have to get a refund then buy another new blazer. Partly my fault due to picking the wrong sizing. Please tell me what company will not let you exchange items you have bought from them the day before? It’s so poorly tan it’s ridiculous. Get with the times and update your policies. I’ll never go with this company again. The quality is not the best either.
Probably the nicest monkhouse store in Manchester. Really good experience with friendly and inviting staff who are experts and treat everyone with care. Will stick to this one unlike north Manchester. Thank you. The only note to think upon is appointments which are a bothersome detail that causes more problems than solutions
Doesn't open at 9am as stated. Always has been a waste of Cheadle Hulme space, this place.
Didn’t have half of the items in stock and despite visiting 2 weeks before the start of term, was basically told it was my own fault for leaving it so late! Ordered outstanding orders at the till to be collected from the Altrincham store in 7-10 days, but items weren’t available for a further3 weeks. Was not contacted and had to go into store to locate items. Very poor. Such a shame that they have the monopoly!
My name is Dr Haider. My sons are in Manchester Grammer. I bought clothes from Monk house in Cheadle hulme last year and this year also. I had the most awful experience last year. The manager of this store was abusive and I lodged a formal complaint against her. As expected nothing happened. I ordered clothes for my sons which arrived AFTER the school opened. This year also, the experience was the same. I have attached a photograph of the receipt. I ordered pants for my son which were meant to be delivered at home. Today is my third visit to monk house. I have still not received them and the school is opening next week. I find the service horrible. The staff are rude and saecastic. If I could avoid coming to this store, I honestly would. Avoid if you can
I'd give no stars if it was available. Went to buy uniforms for my children and I could not find them in the store and when I asked where they were I was told, "They're online". That was it, no customer service just a scowl and three lazy staff stuck behind the counter. I left and bought the uniforms from M&S instead who could teach Monkhouse a lesson in customer service. I will never visit again and I suppose when they are wrongly given the monopoly on school uniforms then they won't care will they.
I urgently needed to obtain the sports wear for my son, the store was not open - Tuesday everyone has a day off. Wednesday closed according to website. Decided to order online, collection is not available therefor have to pay postage £4.99 - delivery time 14 days! Website states items in stock! Very Poor Service good are also very over priced!
