Super efficient and helpful staff. They changed my dead car battery within minutes and at a much better price than I thought. Both Hannah and Calum are stars and made it all happen with a minimum of fuss and a maximum of effectiveness. Totally recommended! And I enjoyed browsing the store while I waited - got a few other good products while I was there.
AVOID if you need work done on your car.nnI was mislead and missold the Halfords subscription by 2 workers. Told I can subscribe for a £20 discount and free installation for a battery for my car. Im a young lad, this is my first car and they knew and took advantage of that Both of them said I can subscribe for 6 months and cancel anytime for free - advising me to literally go home that day and cancel if I want after paying just the first month at the store. So I tried to cancel later that day and found they: Signed me up for a premium 12 month subscription, there is no free cancellation and all months must be paid whether I want to abandon the contract early or not.nnAll this for the sake of a small amount of commission, I wonder how many other people they’ve done this to. Scammers.nnThis happened last year and it’s still on going. I cant cancel without paying extra on top of the remaining months and losing the “benefits”.nn-Lied to and forced to stay in a subscription paying monthly to something I didn’t agree ton-Constant emails about someone else’s car I don’t own because they couldn’t get my reg/ details right even though they physically worked on my car.n-Spoke to support for hours multiple times to no avail - got no compensation and was “advised” to continue the subscription?n-You cannot cancel the auto-renewal in advance they wont help you do it. You must remember to do it yourself at the end of the 12 months or else you will be paying for another year. No option to downgrade the plan either.n-You cant block the payments through your bank or it will affect your credit rating, so its “pay up and shut up”.nnJust avoid at all costs unless you’re buying something off a shelf to install yourself and not talking to any of the staff. For 2 staff to team up and lie through their teeth together is very telling.
Giving 2 stars because they eventually fixed the issue and most of the staff were nice.nWent in because I thought my headlights had dimmed. The girl at the front desk was lovely and pointed me in the direction of two other men to ask about my issue.nI asked about my issue and described it as best I could I don’t know much about cars and without even taking a look they dismissed the issue and said it would be my battery or something else making it sound like a major issue. They could tell I was confused at first as I wasn’t even sure which type of lights it was in the front sidelights, headlights etc so they could’ve had a look at least, but they didn’t. I called my dad who is a mechanic and he told me to go back in and get the lights changed anyway. I went back in and the “mechanic” guy looked at me like I had three heads when he saw I wanted the headlights changed anyway despite his “fabulous” review and diagnosis. When we got to fixing my car he was rude, as if I was taking up too much of his time- it was the end of the day but you should still and offer good service right up until close. He then said “well are your headlights on” in the most blunt way to which I replied yes and he said “well they’re not dim they’re completely out” and just looked at me blankly before fixing them.nHonestly, if they had just had a look at the car after seeing my complete confusion when I first walked in I probably wouldn’t have to write this review.nI’ll be going to Halfords elsewhere instead now after this interaction. I only went here because it was late and others were closed. I’d rather wait until the next day and go to somewhere where they value and respect their customers.
I had the front windscreen wipers on my BMW X5 replaced yesterday. Unfortunately, the passenger-side wiper does not clean properly and leaves streaks/lines on the windscreen.nnI returned today to explain the issue and expected someone to inspect the vehicle. However, the fitter, Jackson, was very rude and did not even come outside to look at the car or check the problem. I was disappointed by the lack of customer service and willingness to help resolve an issue with the work that had just been carried out.nnBased on my experience, I cannot recommend this business. Customer concerns should be taken seriously, and a simple inspection could have helped resolve the problem.
Lovely helpful staff and service with a smile. These guys are very welcoming and happy to talk through their products and services. Lovely store clean and organised. 5 stars from me
