My husband and I always pass this resto on our way home. We keep saying we will try them out, and today, we finally did. It was worth it! Very fresh and delicious food. Great and friendly service. Nice ambiance. Clean place. Thank you for the lovely evening. We’ll definitely be back~
Absolutely fantastic customer service I had booked a meal last night to celebrate a birthday they had made it so special, they also greeted myself by my name as we had walked through the door which is something you never see. I would definitely recommend going to Milan as it’s such a hidden gem and needs more recognition. The food was exceptional and I can strongly say I will be returning back, thank you again all.
Great Food, Great Service & Great Value! First family visit to this edge of city centre restaurant and we were not disappointed. As we were staying in town for one night only and Indian food was on the menu, we took our time to research all the nearby options. Not only was the menu at Milan the most familiar with all the classic dishes we expect from a good Indian, the online reviews were also very promising not to mention the prices. On arrival we were warmly greeted by Nico who offered us different table options, which was really appreciated. Drinks orders followed swiftly and we perused the extensive menu. We were then given some very helpful advice on the main course options by the lovely Bosco, who ensured Chef tweaked our dishes according to our requests. Our starters Milan mixed grill arrived hot, sizzling and fresh and the mains lamb saag, lamb rogan Josh & chicken korma exceeded our expectation, all served with very generous rice portions and naan bread. Whilst the food alone would be reason enough to return, great service and warmth really do elevate any dining experience. Whether you are local or visiting, be sure to visit Milan Indian Cuisine at the next opportunity!
Had high hopes based on recent reviews. The food was pretty bland. Chicken shashlik was soulless. My curry tasted like an Italian tomato based dish. The quality of the ingredients was very good, but it lacked flavour. The naan was probably the most enjoyable mouthful. The inside is a bit tired. The service was very friendly and attentive. Alas, it's the food we go for and we won't be returning.
Really nice place for a dinner. The staff is very friendly and have perfect manners. The place has a great atmosphere and is spacious. The dishes are great even tho we found the chicken slightly dry. The paneer was excellent. I took a mocktail and was a bit disappointed. It tasted just like juice and nothing more. Overall, great experience, great value for your money. An ideal place if you are searching for a friendly place where to eat for a reasonable price appetizers, mocktail, mains and dessert for less than 50£ for 2people Thank you Milan staff
One of the best Indian restaurant. Visited this restaurant with my family and enjoyed everything that we ordered. Particularly their house special and set menu are worth trying, you can never go wrong with it. Starting from receiving us to helping us what to order, the staff were indeed very helpful and supportive, especially the old slim staff who made an extra effort to check on us throughout our meal. I would definitely recommend food lovely to visit and I have already planned my next visit.
Worst Food And Waste of Money. Small Portions and Taste Less. Not worth for the money paid. Specifically in Birmingham. Will not come back again. Sorry Picture show the food which billed for £45.
It has been around 30 years since I last visited this restaurant. It's just that I don't go down this end of Newhall St very often, and then not usually on a Friday night when we tend to go out for a curry. It has always had a good reputation and obviously changed over the years, I suspect for the better judging by our experience. The food and service was excellent. What was particularly pleasing was the very friendly Abdul's knowledge of the menu. Indian dishes can be distinctly different from your more common Bangladeshi restaurants and it's therefore worth checking how they prepare the dishes. Indian food is usually bespoke to the chef and the dishes are typically noticeably different from each other. A bit of knowledgeable advice from your waiter helps avoid any potential disappointment. I was really pleased that Abdul nailed the choice for me. Likewise he assisted the wife with the details of her salmon dish which she thoroughly enjoyed. Furthermore the pilau rice was superb with none of the all too common red or green food colouring. There was nothing wrong with the onion bhaji starter or the garlic naan either. Even the dips with the poppadoms were better than your usual. The kulfi dessert was also better than the "daleks" you normally get offered. More traditional desserts are also available. Overall a great night, far more relaxed and also a bit cheaper when compared to similar restaurants in the town centre. Well worth checking out and the short walk down Newhall St.
Excellent food, attentive personnel, comfortable tables and place, which is becoming difficult to find nowadays. The owner took the time to come to say hello. Me and my partner have dined there several times. It has definetly become a must everytime we go to Birmingham!Food: 5/5
Quality Indian food from top to bottom. My friend of Birmingham heritage had arrived back in the motherland and I wanted to impress. I had heard good noises about Milan Indian Cuisine. With my friend’s arrival being on the evening I thought it would be foolish of me not to take him to this Indian mainstay. Milan Indian Cuisine has had a presence on hadn’t seen my I finally got a chance to experience Milan Indian Cuisine on New Hall Street for decades. I wanted to find out why. 1. It’s big 2. It’s bright 3. It’s British It has all the hallmarks of the British Indian restaurant and more. The dishes on offer have influences from the breadth of India. The starters were served on banana leaf, something I experienced when I was in South India. The mains were text book British: Meat, Vegetable and sauce with a side of rice and Nan. Service was impeccable and food had depth of flavour. Milan has kept it’s old school style decor, which most would appreciate. Having seen Rajdoot recently, which an amazing, traditional visual experience. It would be great for Milan Indian Cuisine to do some similar. A highly polished experience.
