Beautiful building, great location. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, no request was too big. We stayed in the Penfolds Grange suite for my partner’s birthday and it was a really special experience. The bed is insane, and I already have a super-king at home. Parking nearby at Snow Hill is easy and surrounded by restaurants and bars. I could live in that suite if allowed. Will definitely be back again. Rooms: Suites are lovely
Very comfortable beds, great service and nicely presented rooms and bathrooms. It comes with everything you need, Loccataine products was a nice touch. Very quiet and undisturbed which was also appreciated. We were offered free drinks in exchange for opting to go Eco. Nice room service options although we had no phone in our room to order it with and had to go to reception which would be our only complaint. Quite pricey but you do get what you pay for.
Great service - we arrived early and receptionists were lovely letting us store our bags for a few hours before check-in. Only ate breakfast here but it was delicious, a great mix of continental buffet and choice of cooked breakfasts. Rooms: Very comfortable beds and very spacious wardrobe. Large bathrooms with great amenities. Walkability: Super central! 5 minute walk from New Street Station and a huge range of shops. Even closer to Birmingham cathedral. 5-10 min walk from Birmingham museum and art gallery.
Absolutely stunning hotel, in a beautiful building. I’ve stayed here several times and have never been disappointed. I asked if I could have a slightly larger room and Fleur in the reception team organised me a wonderful alternative room. The rooms are beautiful decorated, clean and with luxurious products. Breakfast was tasty and the service was pleasant and swift. Thank you team for making my stay really comfortable and special. It was unexpected and very gratefully received. I will be back and will continue to recommend this hotel to any you me who will listen to me!
Beautiful hotel, in a lovely building. Thank you to the team for making our stay really comfortable and special. We will be back and we recommend this hotel & Bar as definitely worth staying at when in Birmingham.Rooms: 5/5
Great hotel. Really comfortable and clean, with very helpful staff. Excellent location for seeing the best of Birmingham. Amazing restaurant with a great food and drink menu. Overall brilliant Rooms: 5/5
The hotel is beautiful and in a central location which was perfect for our stay! The receptionist in the morning was very lovely and offered to take our bags so we could explore the city. On the night of the 26/01/24 we went into the lounge and had a cocktail, I did not catch the bartender's name but she was so lovely and made our evening very relaxing. The only thing I would say was the breakfast was slow but I believe that was due to staffing issues and you could tell it was taking a toll on the staff. However, the hot breakfast I had was lovely.
Room was on the 3rd floor but there was a lift, albeit very slow & quite small - 3 person max. Some issues with our room, there was a background noise throughout most of the both nights we stayed. Sounded like a pump, so maybe we were close to a laundry area? However, it was loud enough to make it difficult to get to sleep. The squeel the wardrobe doors made was very loud & unpleasant. Like chalk being dragged on a drawing board! Helpfully there was a light in the clothes hanging area of the wardrobe. However there was no light where the tea, coffee, kettle etc were situated on a shelf in the wardrobe. We ended up moving it onto the desk, so we could see what we were doing. There was a window but it was situated so high, we couldn't open it - without having to clamber onto the desk & stand up on it, to reach the handle - & we are too old for that! The bath was high sided & quite difficult to get in & out of. We don't consider that we have any mobility issues but we struggled. The toilet cistern took so long to refill - about 15 minutes, during which time you couldn't use the shower without being boiled - there wasn't any cold water flow to it when the toilet cistern was filling. The room was very warm at night & we were unable to adjust the thermostat or open the window. One other issue, was that there was no price list displayed in the bar. Barman stated there had been but it had gone missing & he had been unable to get it replaced. All that being said, the staff were all lovely, the breakfasts were excellent & the room was clean. Also the location perfectly suited our needs.
We have a lovely deluxe room. But the bathroom had no heating that worked, so it was cold for a shower or bath. I would swap the kettle over with the coffee maker so that sits inside the wardrobe. The breakfast was lovely with a choice of food for everyone.Rooms: 4/5
Excellent hotel. Incredibly quiet despite being in the city centre. Staff very accommodating to my request for flowers to be put into the room before I got there to surprise my wife. The only downside was when we asked for room service wanting a midnight snack, we were told the kitchen was being cleaned overnight so there was no food available. A real shame especially after initially being told we could have it before they realised it wasn’t then possible.
