Due to being a frequent travel through Birmingham, i have always been wanting to see what Yorks Cafe was offering I only wanted something to drink since i had a huge breakfast. I was greeted with a wonderful server who asked if i had any special requests or allergies, before coming around to take my order. The atmosphere was a nice vintage look inside. Personally I do love that style of environment. Moving on, they have a large variety of food and drinks and i tried one of their special lattes which had turmeric, cinnamon and ginger. The taste was unique and i had nothing like it before. It definitely refreshed my pallet. Overall, i am very pleased with the coffee and the staff and will definitely have to revisit within the near future. Thank you so much for your service.
I have been to York's many many times as a Birmingham local. Sadly, it's not all that!! The coffee and decor is good and that's all I can say. Overpriced small portions that don't satisfy Unattentive staff that offer table service but don't know what it is. Over the years, York's has always disappointed me. I only go if I'm on a date and my overly expensive coffee is being paid for!!! It looks good but it's smoke and music. There's plenty of other satisfying cafes in Birmingham.
Too greasy for our liking. We ordered two dishes, the house breakfast and the two chicken stuff, drawn by numerous positive online reviews to this restaurant. However, upon arrival, we were informed that the menu had changed, leaving us to navigate a new menu and new prices. The house breakfast 15£ featured toast so thinly sliced and deep-fried it resembled croutons more than bread. Unlike most other places, the sausage was overly soft, lacking in texture. The mushrooms and bacon were unremarkable, though the poached egg was delightful. It was disappointing to find only one enjoyable element in the dish. The 'two chicken' 14£ was overwhelmingly greasy. The thick toast was drenched in oil, making each bite akin to swallowing oil, and the chicken's thick batter encased dry meat, with the dipping sauce doing little to cut through the grease. The only saving grace was the refreshing pickles. On the bright side, the drinks met our expectations, with both the chai latte and flat white being satisfactory. The location is convenient and the decor pleasing. However, for those seeking a tasty brunch or mindful of their diet, I wouldn't recommend this place.
The carrot cake was lovely, vegan too! Wasn’t dense or dry, really nice. Also enjoyed an oat latte with some beautiful coffee art on top. Staff very friendly. Lots of vegan cake options and a few savoury food options. I was able to work on my laptop here for an hour and it was a nice atmosphere. Would recommend. Vegetarian options: Several veggie options on the menu Dietary restrictions: Vegan options for food and sweet treats Kid-friendliness: Family friendly
We stopped here for breakfast with a couple of friends, my breakfast item wasn't on their website menu but was great, a Korean dropped sandwich. pictured I may have missed remembered the name. The coffee tasted great and was a lovely atmosphere inside - really close to new street station, definitely recommend popping over if you have a bit of a wait to change trains.
I was in Birmingham for a City break with a friend and we discover York’s on google when we arrived at the Train station. Last Sunday we were starving after our journey coming from London so we decided to have a brunch. The cafe was very busy but we didn’t have to wait long to get a table, we ordered a Yorks House Breakfast which was so delicious, Fried chicken & French Toast with a beautiful sauce on the side and the Masala fries which were very tasty. Staff was really lovely and friendly. Also great coffee selection and perfect atmosphere for a Café. We went back again for more coffee and Avocado smashed and Feta cheeses on Toast, so yummy! Probably one of my favourite cafes ever! Kid-friendliness: Super lovely staff
First time visiting Birmingham and this is hands down the best place around for brunch. I had the butter chicken with French toast and wow... never had a better breakfast in my life. Amazing atmosphere with friendly atmosphere. I am gutted that I don't live nearby so that I could come back regularly. Compliments to the chef, brilliant food and warm establishment.
I tried the house brew which was the Indonesian roast — the aroma and acidity was perfect. The avocado feta smash was great, however, the portion was really small compared to the price. Lovely staff and beautiful ambience! Perfect study spot/brunch location
I needed a place to work in Birmingham and Yorks was perfect. I was able to set up a computer, drink a delicious flat white and nibble on a banana muffin without any problem. Staff seemed really friendly and it's well located, just by Birmingham New Street station.Food: 5/5
Industrial style cafe, the food was ok, but the person beside me had the chicken sandwich & it was so dry he was struggling to cut it. Ppl Queuing outside, to be honest it wasn’t that great but service was really good.Food: 3/5
