I forgot to take photos when I ate in.  Have to say one of the best curries I've ever had and that is saying something.  Great beer at the bar and as you can see from the photos the takeaway is amazing.  Fish Pakora is out of this world and definitely the best I have ever tasted without a shadow of a doubt.  Go you'll love it, but it does get busy so book ahead..or get a takeaway

Nice beer and good food. We had the mixed grill which was tasty and a really nice portion. The tandoori rotis were overdone though and slightly burnt. Good food though and we will be back to try the curries - probably go for nans next time !! The seating at the rear seems nicer but we were told it was closed. Toilets nice and clean and the service was with a smile.

Great Pub & Curry Restaurant. The food is excellent & the staff are very friendly. The place is clean & the ambience is great. The procedure for ordering the food is different but fast. The food portions are good enough for two to eat from one order. Great beers aswell. An allround good experience.

Great food which explains why they’re always busy. Good idea to call ahead to reserve a table, particularly on the weekend. Mixed grill is great to share. TBH, it used to be so much better, but, guess as the cost of food has increased the grill has suffered slightly.

Located on Constitution Hill, the Hen & Chickens has benefitted from a superb refurbishment. The area is improving all the time with the Wolf and Lord Clifden completing a drinkers triple heaven. The Hen offers delicious food as well as awesome ales. It's so good King Kong has made his home just up the road. Do yourself a favour and go visit this up and coming area.

Food was okay. Not the best destination I've had. But was still decent.. Nice pub. Very clean..

Usually this pub hits the spot but unfortunately that wasn't the case this time round. Ordered a small mixed grill or and everything was great apart from the green malai chicken. It was raw . Chicken tikka, lamb chops, chicken wings were spot on but you can't be serving raw chicken. Will definitely give the place another chance because it deserves it but has to do better.  Vegetarian options: Chilli paneer, saag, chana, etc

Went on a Tuesday early evening, ordered our beers and were shown to our table with menu in hand, spent 10 minutes deciding what to have, we went for the mixed grill, returned our order to the bar, 15 minutes later we were tucking into a very nice mixed grill. Well organised place with enough staff to deal with busier times.

Spot on. Good curry, well spiced. Solid veggie options. Nice range of beers. Trad pub vibe. For a Brit who now lives in Italy, this was just what I wanted coming back to the Uk. Recommended.

A recommendation from a friend. Awesome. Fantastic atmosphere with friendly staff, great service and great food. We’re not locals south coast but would definitely go again if we could. Quality - a must do.
