This place is charming, clean and stylish with real wood floors and sophisticated lighting. The location is superb, just off Argyle St and round the corner from GOMA. There is no food available but no noisy bar either. The receptionist was efficient and friendly, taking it for granted that guests would come early and leave luggage in the huge room where he could keep an eye on it. One of the things that appealed to me was that I had to ask if I wanted my room cleaned. In 2022 we really shouldn't be doing unnecessary cleaning of rooms and washing of towels. Be aware there are lots of stairs, on a curve, and no lift, but it's really worth carrying your case to enjoy the atmosphere. I loved it.
Lovely hotel in beautiful old building. There is no lift and stairs are steep so ask for ground floor if you have any mobility issues but the hotel is manned 24/7, staff are friendly and helpful. Reasonable price and central easy walk to shops/bus station/train stations. I've stayed several times and will go back. Highly recommend.Rooms: 5/5
Great central location, club next door is barely an issue. Honestly couldn't hear it, but I suppose it depends what room you're in. We were right across from it and it was absolutely fine. Lovely staff, has everything you need and they're great if you need extra tea bags or something similar. 24 hr desk is super helpful too and it's got a secure entrance!
Me and my boyfriend came here for a 2 night stay in Glasgow for an anniversary, but as I read the reviews for this place I started to grow concerned for our choice of booking. However once we got there it wasn't as bad as expected with only a few downsides here and there. One being that I was asked to give my card details for "security" I understand why they may do this but it didn't feel very secure for me to give out my details like that. I haven't had any money come out of my account as of yet. Secondly, the walls are incredibly thin. I could hear our neighbours walk about their rooms and I could hear a lot from outside too like the very noisy nightclub and what seems to be delivery vans driving down the street. And third, the area in which the hotel is located is very close to the centre and was easy for us to get around Glasgow however it was down a side street that felt a bit sketchy walking through once it got dark, and due to the colder weather it got dark at about 6-7pm. I can't really comment on the service as I never interacted with many of the workers, reception was nice enough. As I mentioned, the main concern would be my card details, I feel that was unsafe and puts my account at risk. But all in all it was an okay hotel, no issues with the room itself, everything seemed clean and the bed was definitely very comfortable compared to other hotels I've stayed in.
Was pleasantly surprise by this accommodation. The room was perfect, location absolutely brilliant in town centre and staff were lovely and welcoming. My daughter and I would stay there again if we go back to Glasgow.Rooms: 5/5
The room was a good size , nice and clean and the staff were very accommodating, onlh issue was the noise from a Nightclub across the way but can't blame the hotel for that. Close to everything in the city and 2 mins from the station. Would stay again perfect for a short breakRooms: 4/5
Absolutely disgusting response. My friend paid £150 deposit on top of his stay which is fair enough. The reception boy refused to give the deposit back. The room was perfectly fine leaving. Phoned trying to get the deposit back and basically said bye, before alot of abuse from him. Wouldn't recommend this place. Stole from my friend very rude reception. I tried to phone an ask for deposit back just laughed. Theifs
Really lovely design and atmosphere of the hotel was quite unique. However, the shower was unfit for use when we checked in and when it was mentioned at the end of our stay nothing was done to compensate for us being u able to use the facilities.Rooms: 3/5
Can't give no stars or I would. Got to the desk and a £100 deposit was demaned before room was allocated. On my departure I asked for my deposit back to which I was told a room inspection was to be carried out. My deposit was refused due to a dirty towel that I had used for shower. None of this was stated during my booking neither was a deposit. Won't be returning
I wouldn’t even give it 1 start!!! Don’t stay here, they have total control over you, have to hand your key over every time you leave? We spilt on covers a minor issue on the covers we had to give a 100 pound deposit which wasn’t stated only got £80 back when the covers could have been washed? It’s not clean, not comfy. It’s an absolute disgrace of a place. Only good thing is location. Don’t stay here
