Absolutely fantastic hotel!! The room was clean and the free ice cream, cake and Smarties made the stay feel really homely and welcoming! The location isn’t difficult to find and is clearly marked with a sign outside, as well as instructions on how to get to the right floor. The lady in reception was so nice and friendly, she gave us all the information we needed during our stay and checking in and out was super quick and easy. Will definitely be staying here again!!
What a fabulous find. The grasshoppers hotel is basically on top of the train station, which you think should be very noisy and busy. It was so quiet we had a rear unit. Location was great. Food was great. Staff was exceptional and the little things they do just blew me away. Homemade ice cream and pastries outside your room. Tasty breakfasts and more smiles and welcoming faces than I can remember in any hotel. Rooms are smaller but very well equipped and clean. Highly recommended and would stay again
Super close to Central Station. It’s on the 6th floor. You have to look closely to see their sign. Rooms are cozy. They have a common room with tea and coffee available whenever you want. Delicious cakes made by the staff and ice cream and also an ice machine are all close by for your enjoyment. A delicious breakfast awaits you in the morning. I would stay here again if I ever return to Glasgow. Truly a gem
It's brilliant, except I was a bit dubious when I was outside on the street as there were women swearing n fighting and the police were there. Dont let that put you off as once inside, you are safe and feel a million miles removed from it. Very central location so walking distance for everything in city centre. Staff are lovely...nothing is too much trouble , the bedroom is clean and nicely decorated. Walkability: V close to Central Station, very central.
Myself & my adult daughter stayed 5 nights whilst on a break in Glasgow. Firstly the hotel is next to central station, right in the centre, conveniently situated for shops, bars & restaurants. Grasshopper is on the 6th floor there is a lift available. The hotel is bright, clean & welcoming. However the best part is that the staff are so lovely! Hospitable, friendly & accommodating to say the least. We will definitely recommend to friends & family & would stay again without a doubt. Thanks for a great stay. Babs & Gabby. Dont be put of by the entrance or the lobby, when the lift opens on floor 6 you are transported to a little oasis of calm and tranquility, peaceful and well furnished, the rooms are smaller than a major hotel but this in no easy detracts from feel of the place. A little lounge where you can help yourself to teas and coffee and an all you can eat breakfast buffet. And right outside central station. 2nd stay and as good as the last and reasonably priced.
Free cakes, cupcakes, cookies, ice cream, tea and coffee every day. Really well kept, great location and comfortable room. Great for solo travel. Cleaners visit and provide bottled water everyday.Rooms: 5/5
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We originally booked a twin room with single beds and we were given a twin room with two double beds which was great! The location is very convenient. Right next to the train station with a lot of restaurants and super markets around. The only downside was the bathroom door. It was a sliding door with a big gap so a lot of bathroom smells went into the sleeping area. Food & drinks: Complimentary ice cream, coffee and tea as well as cakes and cookies available 24/7
A classic case of not judging the book by the cover. You enter a building right next to the central glasgow Station with initial fears that you've made a mistake and booked a shabby hotel.. only to find a clean and bright 6th floor hotel with the kindest and most hospitable staff imaginable. Freshly baked treats were provided with coffee and tea in the lounge. Staff made gluten and dairy free as well as other treats and there is a freezer with stocked ice cream for vegan and non vegan alike. Quiet and clean rooms. Beds were too soft for our liking and coffee wasn't aromatic but the hospitality and warmth of the place makes it totally worth it.
Poor signage, entry door part of large complex. On entry, hotel on 6th floor. Small room, no AC so summertime would be unbearable. Windows open, but no screens. Unusual random noises throughout night from building itself. Surprisingly no noise from train station.
