Absolutely awful. We booked a room here as we had a gig in Glasgow and thought the location was decent. We felt uncomfortable as soon as we entered. There were plenty of rowdy characters roaming around the corridors and reception. The decor is horribly dated and everything looks like it hasn’t had a good clean in years. The floors of our room were slanted to one side, the bathroom has seen better days and our bedsheets and towels had horrible stains on them. Our kettle was filthy and the room had an awful smell. As said in other reviews this place is used to house the homeless, drug addicts and alcoholics. The door to our room did not feel secure at all. You’re belongings are not safe here. We lasted 2 hours in our room and upon realising that we weren’t going to get a refund we booked a room at Euro Hostel in Glasgow 100% would recommend however I would not recommend this place to anyone, it should be shut down.
Toilet broken, sink cracked, bed sheet badly stained, mattress not comfy could feel every spring. Floor slopped so badly it was like climbing a hill. Lots of tea, coffee, sugar & biscuits which is great. Great location for SSE Hydro as just a walk along the Riverside on a nice night. Plenty of shops near by. Just a shame the hotel isn't as clean as it could be if some money was spent on it.
The location is convenient, in a center of Glasgow. The reception is open 24/ which is great for travelers. We had a room for 4 people with a bathroom. It was alright and seemed clean. We even had a tray with a kettle and some tea. And the price was very affordable. But this is a old hotel, the room was big but quite depressing. The beds were not great and the decoration and the furniture quite ugly. It is totally ok for one night but not a lot more.
Accommodations were clean. The beds are those wire frame systems, not the most comfortable but adequate. The private toilet/shower in the room was great. The complete lack of a way to secure property was disappointing. The building had the distinctive smell of mildew/mold. Great central location.
Hotel location is either OK or not, depending on needs.. having a car, then no parking.. otherwise centrally located.. My low review is down to staff and room. Staff very challenging even when proven wrong and 1. No remote 4 TV.. was told maintenance department is close until tomorrow morning... 2. Fitted sheet was covered in hair. Seems like they didn't change and was told its all new and fresh.. after requesting to change, was told house keeping is away now until tomorrow, nothing they can do..couldn't even change rooms.. I did tell them am not staying and booking out.. a staff member came up, took pictures and still nothing done.. so I left.. Very poor customer service and in my case, hygienically unclean especially with covid-19 around..
I read all the awful comments on my way to the hotel to lower my expectations and the hotel IS NOT THAT BAD! Sure, the rooms are dated and small, but I had a pleasant stay. The people at the reception were nice especially the afternoon/evening one. I stayed in a six bed female and my bed was clean and better than in the past few hostels were I've been. Sleep quality is all right, I went to bed around tge time the pub closed. A Sainsbury's is three minutes away and all the stores and restaurants too. The complementary coffee was great. All in all, for the £9 I paid, it was great!
The reason I ended up at the Enoch Hotel was that the hostel was full for two days and the place was close and recommended. Giving this place one star is way too much. Before you walk in the street entrance to the Enoch Hotel is just down right disgusting First impressions is that its a dump. After that nothing changes as you go through the building. If the owners even cleaned the carpeting, repainted the walls and changed the decor even slightly then you could bring it up to a one star. The bed sheet was clean but the comforter was ripped and had brown stains on it.It is very apparent that no one, owners or staff have any inkling what tourist see. I think a night spent in a public washroom would be more sanitary.
The hotel condition is neglected. There is mold and holes on the walls. The whole building smells like dirty fat from french fries and it is REALLY LOUD until midnight becuase there is a pub underneath. The beds are old and uncomfortable. I would never recommend this Hotel to anyone. The bathroom was full of stains. The only good thing about this hotel is the location.
Stayed here for a stag weekend. I actually was tempted in the second night to book my own hotel. It’s way below average. Granted it was very cheap, however the place was dIrty. The sheets smelt dirty, there were stains on the floors and the carpets were horrible. The staff were friendly. However unless your budget is extremely low avoid this place.
My group of 3 has the whole room to ourselves and an en-suite bathroom. The price is very cheap but the quality is quite good. Comfortable mattress and complimentary tea and coffee in the room. The location of the hotel is great - right in the city center. Great value.
