This was our last of three hotels in Scotland, and it was the best, by far! Lovely staff at the desk, the executive lounge and stocked mini fridge were a plus, the room was comfortable with a big desk, the bathroom was good, and the rooftop restaurant was a great start to each day! Highly recommend, plus it's a 1 minute walk from the train station and it's nice and central!
I've stayed in many hotels, and this is one of the quirkier ones. Top floor restaurant and city centre location, free mini bar with whisky, gin and vodka in decanters in the room. Superb breakfast with a wide range on offer, freshly cooked and / or cooked to order, friendly and efficient service. So many positives... The negatives? Not many, the decor is a bit tired, as another reviewer noted, bur not desperately so. I personally found it comfortable and just right. Definitely a great night's sleep, no bangng doors etc... Lastly, sensible prices for a great city centre experience. I'll be back. Rooms: Decent sized rooms finished to a high quality. The bed was very comfy- we slept really well. Quiet en-suite with quality soaps etc. Nearby activities: GOMA is literally 200m away if you like modern art. Plenty of good pubs with craft beers within a 300m radius. George Square is a 20m walk from the entrance. Food & drinks: Free mini bar in the room. 3 part- filled decanters with whisky, vodka and gin, kettle and pod coffee machine, biscuits, even a packet of crisps. Great for when you get in at 2am...
Had a lovely two night stay here. Comfy beds and quiet room despite the busy location. Hotel is a stones throw from George's Square, Queen St Station and the Buchanan St tube station giving you easy access to the cities attractions and plethora of eateries. Pleasant and helpful staff, complimentary bar and a smashing top floor restaurant with hearty breakfast makes this place a great choice for a short city break. Would certainly stay again.
The girl at check in did not really explain the breakfast times etc and was not very welcoming. We then had to leave early unexpectedly due to a family member being very ill and ending up in hospital. My partner spoke to the same girl that checked us in and asked if she could help us in anyway due to this and she was really unhelpful and not very understanding. Which added to the already stressful situation. However the breakfast and restaurant staff were excellent and very accommodating. The rooms could also do with a bit of an upgrade. Overall it was a bit of a disappointing stay which is a shame we came here as I used to come here as a child and had very fond memories of this hotel but it fell short of my expectations.
Excellent location walkable from central station. Room was very clean and had a superb air con which was well needed as was 25 degrees outside. The staff we encountered were all polite and happy. The free mini bar is also a fantastic touch.Rooms: 5/5
Perfect location for living in the city. The location next to Queen’s station, no stairs through the front door which makes it convenient with all the luggage, nice eateries next door. Very comfortable room, superb space and nice touches in there with the coffee machine and snacks. Superb bathroom with very convenient located toiletries. The executive lounge is also really nice touch and the food and drink spread is nice. Would book again if back in the city.
I'm sure that once upon a time this hotel could be described as grand. Or as 'chic and modern' as the hotel describes itself. Today it's just old. The springs in the mattress are worn out. The duvet cover doesn't fit the duvet. The curtains are too small for the window. The skirting boards are falling off the wall. Day two of our stay one of the two elevators broke down. Day three of our stay the airco in the entire building broke down resulting in a hot room and no sleep.
Excellent hotel. Staff friendly and customer service was second to none. Arrived on an early morning flight and they checked me in, as my room was ready. Complimentary spirits and soft drinks in the room. Very clean spacious room and bathroom. Very close to everything, especially Queen st station, which I needed for the next leg of my journey. I have already recommended your hotel to many friends. A big thank you to all especially the lovely staff I met.
It was an *ok* hotel. The location is PRIME only about a 4 minute walk from Queen Street train station. Room was clean and ok but it was a SAUNA and the windows don’t open. The toilet was difficult to flush; you had to try 2-4 times and really crank it down and hold it. It was frustrating every time. Bed was just ok on comfort but the way they put the flat sheet on it just pulled right off and you’d wake up sleeping on the bare mattress which is gross to think about. Our room view was of an air shaft but the view from breakfast on the 7th floor was lovely. Breakfast was decent but not amazing. Staff was friendly and helpful. Not sure that we’d stay again due to the toilet and heat issue but the location was great. Again I’d classify this as *fine*. Walkability: 4 minute walk from Glasgow Queen Street station. The location is the reason to book here.
I visited yesterday for afternoon tea, room lovely and were the staff. The afternoon tea however was a bit disappointing, sandwiches hard and sausage rolls cold. Would have been adequate if bought on a voucher deal but not worth the full price .Hotel highlightsGreat view
