The location of this hotel couldn’t be more perfect. It’s about a 5 minute walk to the Piccadilly line. The staff was very friendly. The hotel was a bit outdated and could use some upgrades. The bathroom was not very clean. There was a space between the tile on the wall and the tile by the sink and unfortunately, my earring fell down in the crack and there was no way to get it out. The location makes it worth it but it could definitely use an upgrade in the bathroom.
Quiet and pleasant location. Very walkable from the Earl's Court underground station, as well as supermarket and a number of eateries. Walking at night felt really safe. Check in was easy, and nice to know the front desk is manned 24/7. Room had everything we needed, all clean, tidy and comfortable. But, there were some minor qwerks and faults: - Large and odd step up the bathroom, caused some cursing in the middle of the night. - Beds were super springy and comfortable, but the sheets didn't fit them well and had completely untucked by morning. - Above the beds had multifunctional lamp fixtures lamp, spotlight and USB charging ports, but they were way too high up from the beds - because the beds were so squishy, we had to basically stand up on the beds to turn the switches. - One of the lamp fixtures was hanging out of the wall, and kind of crackled on and off sometimes, like the wiring was a bit dodgy. - There was very little space between or at the ends of the beds - nowhere to put our bags but on the beds or just inside the entrance, which didn't feel very safe. - There was no bolt lock inside the room, and no do not disturb/service needed door handle sign, so we had house keeping barge in on us twice. But overall, it was a pleasant and restful stay, with facilities on par with the price range. I'd definitely stay there again!
We loved our room. It was a great space for the two of us for our two nights in London. We’re so happy that we stayed here in zone 1. It’s convenient to all of central London and to getting back to Heathrow. The hotel’s team was very kind and welcoming. I’d highly recommend this hotel for your visits to London!
I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately it was disappointing. We stayed there for 6 nights. The mattress had some metal that dug into my back, the sink was tiny with no extra shelf, the bathroom walls were dirty :/ overall not very enjoyable. What it has going for it is the location. Rooms: The window barely opens and the airflow is quite bad. Food & drinks: There is a "breakfast" that you can get but it's mostly just bread and orange juice. Tho it can work in a pinch.
The staff is really nice and helped me, but it doesn't help the fact that the rooms are really tiny. They have their charm to it, but it was not my thing. I should have researched in advance, but at least the beds are nice and soft. I have a hard time falling asleep and their beds make me feel dozy as I am laying in it. Their location is quite grand, very close to Earl's Court Station. It's a good place when you are focusing on visiting the town itself. Rooms: The rooms are very tiny, but they are good for those who don't need much space . Walkability: The Earl's Station is very close.
Me and my new husband stayed here for our honeymoon. The room was more than adequate, cleaned daily, fresh towels and plenty of tea, coffee and milk. Ideally situated for tube travel and nearby shops pubs and cafes. Free WiFi tv reception excellent. No noise apart from foxes in the beautiful park which our balconied room overlooked. Bed was soft bit too soft for my liking but thats personal taste. We would definitely recommend a stay here excellent value for money Walkability: Easy to walk to tube and surrounding areas
Excellent hotel in great of Earl's Court over looking the garden. I loved my single room. It had everything I need. Great value and clean. Will stay again.Rooms: 5/5
So, wanted to re-patriate my late mother's ashes back to England. Went on Expedia and found this hotel. Great deal only $550. CAD for 4 night's in London England. Got the bill and discovered it was in USD. Asked Expedia to refund me, they asked Gardenview and the hotel said no. Then, found out that the booking was listed as August 13 -17th not September 13th-17th as requested. Phoned Expedia to help clean up the mistake, theywho phoned the Gardenview hotel who, you guessed it, said no. I phoned Gardenview hotel and spoke to a very unsympathetic front desk person who said to get Expedia to email them the request After a very long talk with the friendly but rather dim CSR at Expedia he sent the Email requesting the change to Gardenview hotel, guess what happened? They said no... What a surprise. The plane tickets where already booked and people from all over the world are coming to London for this occasion. No matter how much I emphasized this to Gardenview hotel they refused to adjust the schedule. We are out large coin and had to scramble to relocate to another hotel. Should you find yourself needing a room in downtown London England that claims to care about their guests look somewhere else.
RE Owner's Reply: It definitely shows the quality of ownership to have taken this long to reply to my complaints and not even reply to the emails I was instructed to send directly to the hotel. I was not rude, but definitely frustrated at the entire lack of action about the state of the room. I was told all rooms were booked for the week but that changed once I said I was leaving the hotel. Just because you allege the urine spots and dirt spots are small doesn't mean I want to be near them. People were smoking in that area and a staff member confirmed that is the staff smoke area when I voiced concerns about safety, a basement is an area below ground level - you go downstairs to get to these rooms - that's a basement. The sheets were stained. Zoom in - it's a yellow stain. Gross. You have a dirty, unkempt hotel. Upon checking in I was given a room in the basement. Dirty, dark hallway to room. Window is at ground level and opens to employee smoking area so I couldn't open it without them seeing in and me smelling smoke/hearing conversations/hearing power saws being used in this area. Room was filthy. Sticky floor, dirt and brown splashes on walls, urine on toilet, mold throughout bathroom, sink not even attached to countertop, hair in shower and on walls, black stuff in bed, stained sheets. Complained - no rooms available all week. Expedia called - were told I need to go to desk in morning to talk to someone with authority to help. Morning worker had no authority - lol surprise. Manager can't be contacted - just can't be bothered unless it's an emergency I was told. Employee complaints are not their concern. I can switch rooms now but too late because I already got a different booking after being told they had none available all week. Who would want to stay in a room with urine spots all week.... Told to email complaint and pictures - I did. Very detailed, pics and video. Tried several times. Expedia tried as well. No surprise I never even received a response from anyone at Garden View Hotel. They refused Expedia's request. I guess they want people to pay to stay in a urine filled room. It's obviously a slum hotel. Don't stay here - it's garbage.
It’s a simple hotel but in nice location, you can’t complain anything missing in the room , the room is tiny! But for short stay is absolutely ok .Rooms: 3/5
