I had one of the worst shopping experiences at this store. The staff were incredibly slow to open up the checkout desks, leaving customers waiting for ages. Not only were they slow, but they also seemed very unhelpful, possibly because they were overworked and stressed, which suggests the store might be understaffed. The overall atmosphere was chaotic - the store was a mess with items scattered and not well organized. To top it off, many of the machines, including self-checkouts, were not functioning properly, which added to the frustration. This store desperately needs better management and more attention to customer service and maintenance. Do yourself a favour and shop elsewhere
It was overall a decent shopping experience, although the self-service machines were frustratingly slow. Despite this, the assistant on duty far right on the 28/10/24 at 10:50am really made a difference as he handled everything with patience and a positive attitude, even with customers constantly calling for his help. His calm and friendly approach kept things moving and made the experience much better than it could have been. Hats off to him for his hard work and professionalism as he's a credit to the store.
Today I had very unpleasant service in this branch. I came around 6.30pm to buy food. When I walked in I saw that one manned till was open but as soon as I finished my shopping and wanted to pay, I noticed that they closed manned till. I asked one member of staff he was wearing bright yellow/ green gilet and was sorting out products from tills if I can be served on manned tills. He said no, I have to go to the self checkouts. I said it’s not compulsory for me to use and I prefer to be served on manned tills. He was busy and had lack of interest to help me. I was waiting for few mins and I saw him again. I asked politely if he is a manager, he said no. Then I asked to call a manager as I want to speak with him. He asked why I don’t want to use self checkouts instead. I explained that I don’t give my consent to record my face while I buy my food essentials. Also, if I pay by card , my face will be linked to my card. Where all this data goes and why? You have enough cameras everywhere plus security who monitors everything. I’m not a thief and I want to keep peoples jobs as well. He barely could hold his laugh and said it a very weird request. He went to call a manager, came back and said that manager asked me to use self checkouts. So, I asked back , does it mean that they refuse to serve me on manned tills? He smiled and walked away. I left my basket full of food unfortunately and left the building. It’s a first time they refused, I never had problems before in this particular shop. They had enough staff on the floor and manager wasn’t bothered to even come out and speak with me. Very disappointed and sad.
The man with the shaved head in his mid to late 30’s or 40’s, you are a superstar. Always saying hello, going above and beyond to help customers, always energetic and making customers feel at ease with jokes. The only reason why I’m writing this is because you deserve to be recognised. The store is good but you make it even better. Happy new year to you and Lidl should give you a raise because i am now drawn to this store than going farm foods or even sainsuburys. I will also say the Asian gentleman with the blue jumper and grey jeans, thank you for never allowing people to push into the card only isle. You’ve never allowed it and you keep your eye open when people try to slide through. Thank you
My compliments to the man who helps people at the self-checkout counters, shaved head with blue eyes. Very helpful, kind, and always smiling! I think he’s the nicest person I’ve ever seen at a Lidl. Thank you very much!
