One of the worst mental health institute ever built in UK for the vulnerable! Staff are incompetent and very unreliable. Being a new built one would expect reliable and English speaking staff whom as professionals should be knowing their jobs however not the case! A proper investigation of this establishment should be monitored carefully. I never complain about anyone but my 6 weeks experience with this centre has been nothing but a failure of the team running the show. My meds were not given on time and 6 times no show nor an apology or answers to why they didn't turn up when agreed. An absolute disaster if someone in hierarchy doesn't step in asap
I visited Jane Atkinson Health and Wellbeing Centre on 20 August 2024 for a mental health appointment, as well as a session at the Recovery College. It was my first time there, and no one—neither the staff nor any signs—told me I needed to register my car for parking. Four weeks later, I received a £100 fine! This is completely unfair and has left me feeling even more stressed and anxious, exactly what I was trying to avoid by seeking help.
This is brand new building with excellent facilities and staff. They is a spacious common area, the receptionist acknowledged me even though she was on the phone and when the other receptionist became free she asked who was first. A guy who came after me was pushing in and she did not allow this. Excellent!nMy health care worker walked up to me and escorted me to her office. They were courteous, friendly and put me at ease.nIn addition, excellent 2-hour parking is available on site. What more could you ask for?
Two staff members visited my address because I didn’t answer my phone, disclosed my name and issues to a neighbour who has been harassing/stalking me. Sat there, discussing me with him because he asked why they were at my address, not a care for disclosing my full name and issues I have faced and left a message on my ring doorbell when I have this facility only for parcels which the doorbell clearly states. Absolute breach of data and when confronted they said “we been trying to call you” so that’s okay to leak my personal data to a complete stranger. Disgusting service and although I have made a complaint I will be looking into legal advice over this. Has had a massive impact on my mental health and caused me now a massive issue with were I live
Very little to no regard for people with mental illnesses especially those that exhibit undesirable symptoms, such as frustration, anger and sudden mood swings. Isn’t the whole point of this place to treat people who need extra help with things like addiction and mental illness?? Yet you refuse to support people who exhibit difficult symptoms.nIt seems very minimal information is kept on each patient and new doctors do not revise patients medical notes before attempting to contact and treat their patients.nUnplanned and surprise visits for people with anxiety or any type of paranoia is probably not a good idea. Staff don’t seem very well equipped to deal with a lot of the problems that mentally ill people naturally exhibit on a regular basis. Someone needs to carry out a thorough inspection on staff behavior and the effectiveness of their procedures and whether procedures are being properly followed. The admin staff seem much more trained than the actual doctors.
