Beautiful setting, beautiful inn... only let down by some - not all - of its staff. Whilst the majority of the team were welcoming, the lady heading up the accommodation was extremely unaccommodating (the irony!), as was the young man heading up the restaurant. When checking in, we were simply shown to our rooms - practically chucked in and left. No welcome, no explanation, no interest. Dinner was the same. Anything we asked for seemed too much trouble. During our stay, we heard at least two other groups say the same thing. It's a shame really, as it really makes the difference between booking again - and never booking again.

Absolutely gorgeous, I can't praise The Lamb Inn enough. everything was just perfect, food, surroundings, service. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you for a lovely evening.

We attended the lamb at Burford for a family occasion. The service was quite fast and we got drinks quite quickly. We had afternoon tea and there was sandwiches and a lot of cake. We would have preferred some more savory item, rather than sweet. It was a very atmospheric venue for a get together or event

I had dinner here this evening and it was quite poor. A shame as we’ve eaten here previously, about 2 years ago, and it was very good then. Their version of ‘sticky toffee pudding’ was plain sponge with some toffee sauce poured over and a teaspoon of ice cream. The sponge was warm (not hot) in the centre and completely cold on the outside, I suspect microwaved, on a stone cold plate which didn’t help. On a plus, the rooms are nice here and the log fire is lovely. That’s the only reason for 2 stars not 1.

Charming hotel, small but nicely decorated room with great shower. Staff were friendly, breakfast was very good and sitting by the fireplace in the bar was lovely.
