We met family here on Monday for a belated Christmas gathering. Three couples for lunch and we all booked rooms for the night also….. Our room was called ‘Wisdom’ and it was lovely. Plenty of room with a lovely view over the gardens to the rear of the property. It was warm and the bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was pleasant with Molten Brown soaps, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. There were plenty of towels too……nnWe had lunch and the plant based options myself and my partner chose were delicious. We both had the celeriac soup to start followed by the roasted celeriac and polenta main course.nnThere was a wedding happening at this venue at the same time as we were there so the staff were all very busy but they seemed to be coping well enough.nnWe wandered onto the Main Street through Burford in the evening looking for food and some drinks but it appeared that Burford was full so we ended up returning to The Bay Tree again and ate in the bar area instead. Sharing platters and wine all round, again very nice!
We got married at The Bay Tree in September, and it was the very first venue we visited after attending their wedding fair. From the moment we arrived, we just knew it was the one. Even after viewing a few other venues nearby, nothing else came close for us. We met Becky at the open day, who showed us around and talked us through exactly how the wedding day would look and flow, which made everything feel so reassuring from the start.nnIn the lead-up to the wedding, we shared our vision with Becky, and on the day the team brought it to life perfectly. Everything looked absolutely beautiful, and we genuinely wouldn’t change a thing.nnBecky is an absolute dream. She was incredible throughout the whole process — always at the end of the phone whenever we needed anything, and just such a genuinely lovely person. The entire team were also amazing, and so many of our guests commented on how smoothly the day flowed thanks to them. Our guests still talk about how beautiful the food was and how generous the portions were too.nnOverall, we’re so glad we chose The Bay Tree as our wedding venue and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone. We also love that we can now return for special occasions — or even just because. Thank you again to Becky and the whole team.nnDans & Amelia x
Bay Tree Hotel is a very nice spot for both lunch and dinner, offering a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The space is thoughtfully decorated, creating a cozy setting where you can sit comfortably and enjoy your meal. The food is great, and the friendly service makes the experience feel easy and welcoming from start to finish.nnQuietly rated: worth stopping.
We had our wedding at The Bay Tree Hotel in September and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The staff were all wonderful, friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process.nnA special mention must go to Laura, the wedding coordinator, who was truly amazing. She was so organised, calm, and supportive, and made everything feel effortless. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and we felt completely looked after.nnOn the day, the team helped us set everything up and the space looked absolutely gorgeous — bright, beautiful, and better than we could have imagined. The hotel itself is full of charm, and the gardens were stunning and made the perfect backdrop for our photos.nnWe couldn’t recommend The Bay Tree Hotel highly enough as a wedding venue. An exceptional place with an exceptional team.
Stayed here for one night on March 3rd 2025. Very impressed. Food excellent, staff very good and rooms although old fashioned and quaint were comfortable. At home my wife and I have a Super Kingsized bed to the standard kingside in our hotel room was a little cramped compared to what we are just to.nnWe did enquire and we shown a couple of other rooms that had bigger beds to if we stay again we will ask for a room with a bigger bed!nnRestaurant and Reception staff were very helpful as I have an intolerance to Rapeseed Oil and they were able to advise me which meals to have. I’m was particularly impressed with Sean in the evening and Tracey at breakfast.nnNB Access to the carpark is down a narrow lane to the side of the hotel. If you have a particularly big car or are a nervous driver you can park free on the road.
