Amazing hotel in a fabulous location. We had the apartment/cottage for the weekend which is just off the courtyard. Friends of.iurs whom we met there had a stunning four poster bed room in the main hotel.nStaff were super friendlynFood was superb both breakfast and dinnernWould happily stay here again.
Lunch review, not a hotel review.nnThe building is beautiful, the pub is nice and well decorated. The front of staff were absolutely amazing. Unfortunately the food was a massive let down :nnKorean BBQ Pork: I have never tasted something that salty in my entire life. So salty it was unedible. I literally can't stress enough how salty it was. It would have made a glass of sea water pass like a glass of fine wine. After forcing myself for a bit, I've sent half my plate back into the kitchen convinced there has been a mistake and someone dropped the salt pot into the dish. Just to be told, no, it's how the chef likes it, even though it's not the first time customers have complained... I was mind blown.nnChesseburger: for a £20 burger £16.95 beefburger + £1 cheddar + 10% service fee = £19.75 cheeseburger it was disappointing to get a very cheap industrial frozen patty. Same patty you would get from kebab truck at 1am. But you don't expect to get the same food quality from a £5 food truck cheeseburger at 1am than a £20 cheeseburger lunch in Burford.nnThe menu and specials were quite broad, maybe reducing the size of the menu would help with food quality... anyway if the chef has been told several time his food is too salty but doesn't listen he probably won't listen to that either ^^nnFront of house were amazing. Would warlmy recommend for a drink and a bag of crisp.
We stayed 1 night £148 with breakfast in deluxe double room. The bathroom needs complete renovation. Lovely roll tap bath stained green with dripping taps, cracked floor tiles, shower head and door had black mould & need a good clean, the basin had no plug and cold tap needs replacing. Bed comfortable & quiet.
After seeing the menu and their specialties, I completely changed my mind about having “just a pizza.” I absolutely do not regret my last minute change of mind. I had the most amazing shrimp curry. Also the staff was truly amazing. So sweet, especially to my dog.
