Have stayed twice now, and me and my 5 year old nephew have had a fantastic experience on both occasions. Each member of staff encountered has been really friendly and helpful. The facilities have been fantastic, and the location of the pitches has been brilliant. The whole experience has been straightforward and without incident. Highly recommend this campsite. I'll definitely be back!
Our favourite campsite by far. We love the location, surrounded by beautiful nature. Campsite is very family friendly, no late night drinkers and noise makers. It's very peaceful and cozy. Shower and toilet blocks are always spotless. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We have stayed at glamping pod and we can't wait to come back again.
The location of the site is good and is picturesque with a nice walking trail, however, there were a few downsides that spoil it. We were booked for 1 night on a tent pitch. The pitch itself was a decent size and seemed fine and right by the river. However, the toilets/shower room, particularly the men's left a lot to be desired. We arrived around 1.30pm and when I went to use the toilets shortly after I noted on the door there is a notice stating the toilets are cleaned between 10.15 - 11am and are shut. There was no indication that they are cleaned at any other time which I feel on a campsite is just not enough as by the time I used them they were already dirty and the smell was overpowering. By 10pm, you go to get ready for bed, you can't put your toothbrush etc down as there is toilet roll, and sludge everywhere and going to the toilet you are standing in other people's waste. The next morning, it was like a horror and I could not bear to get a shower. I feel I would have been dirtier after having a shower. The cleaning regime needs to be seriously looked at to ensure that people do not become ill using the facilities. The other complaint I have is, on their own website on their park rules they state no music after 9pm and quiet from 10pm, we were kept awake by the people in the pitch next to us until midnight who were drinking, talking and laughing loudly and still playing music. It seems that while they advertise the quiet rule, they do not police it. There is also a road just above the pitch we were on and so this noise did not help and in a tent sounded like we were beside the M1. We ended up the next day leaving as early as we could to get home as we were exhausted and had not had the experience we had been hoping for. In a caravan or motorhome I believe the site would be enjoyable but in a tent it leaves much to be desired.
Our family pitched a tent here not electric over a summer weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the new bathrooms/toilets are spacious and clean, and there are nice forest walks into the town. We were lucky enough to try the hot food fish n chips sometimes served on site, which was fantastic. Just take some midge repellent.
We have been coming to this site since the 1990’s and it’s only got better and better over time. We love it. What makes it great are the owners Ben and Naomi the and staff, very welcoming and accommodating and most of all friendly - Linda is especially helpful and friendly. We come here time after time because of the site facilities such as the amazing shower and toilet block, the scenery of the site, the duck pond and an added bonus is Scholes fish and chip van during high season. A five star campsite and we have highly recommended this site to family and friends who have visited and also loved it. Darren and Paula x
We booked our first ever camping trip here this week just for a few nights with it been our first time, wish we booked longer now. Myself husband & the girls absolutely enjoyed our stay. Beautiful place, staff so friendly & helpful. Lots to do. Definitely booking again. Thank you so much. The Dewdneys
Just had an amazing stay in the willow cabin. Spotlessly clean well kitted out. Campsite immaculate and very well maintained. Lovely well stocked shop. Staff so friendly and helpful. Great place to visit
Just got back from another fantastic long weekend away here. I can’t recommended this place enough. I have plenty of memories growing up as a child and this is what I call and will always call my happy place. The site is absolutely beautiful with great facilities which are kept clean. And the walks in and around the site a stunning. The staff are brilliant and very friendly and can’t do enough for you to make sure you have an amazing break. Can’t wait for my next visit.
Stayed 3 nights. Nice campsite and not far to walk into Holmfirth. Nice clean toilets and showers. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Fish n chip van was very nice on the Saturday.
This is the forth time we have stayed at Holme Valley Camping. We were over looking the pond which was lovely. Showers & toilets cleaned every day. Hairdryer in the shower area. Little shop on site. Hard standing level pitches. Grass level area. Play park for the children. Dog friendly. Some of the photos of toilet / shower block is the new block. Old block currently being updated. Staff really friendly
