After shopping in Gunwharf Quays, decided to pop in to the hotel for a nice Gin & Tonic. I could not believe it when the bar tender informed me that they had no gin ! How strange for a well known chain of hotels and in a very successful shopping centre not to have any gin whatsoever! Very disappointed, somebody needs to get their act together !

Well situated on the edge of the large shopping and eating comex. Staff are friendly, rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast is basic but more than adequate. My home from home whilst working away

Booked this hotel for my mothers birthday, as I love Portsmouth. I did emailed them about my mothers birthday. I didn't expect bottle of Champagne, I at least expected a note left in her room saying Happy Birthday, but nothing been done. Which was disappointing. My mothers room been lovely and massive and the view was stunning to a central street. Although the bin in bathroom was full, sofa bed broken and we found towel with blood stains, my sister which is 8 years old almost cleaned her face with towel which had blood stains on it.. Me and my aunt shared twin room and it had to be changed as first one was with faulty non working hair dryer and AC panel had no cover. Although they moved us straight away and I am thankful to the gentleman who moved us. Again after he moved us we loved the room but only latter that night we noticed that one bed was missing wheel so it had 3 wheels on and 4 one was missing making bed not to be balanced. Also another bed was with wheels so every time you sit on you can have a ''free ride'' to your dreams. Mattress was extremely hard, I could feel all the springs which made me to have terrible sleep, but again not every HIEX has new mattress. Also the toilet flush did not worked properly. At the end i couldn't be bothered to start moaning as in the end of the day we came to celebrate and not to make my mother sad with all these mistakes. But for the future , do more for your client who pay. £1 spend on box of chocolates and write a note Happy Birthday is not too hard to do so. Inspect all the rooms before letting people in. In the bright side location is fantastic, breakfast were great and staff was friendly. Also the shower was amazing, the water pressure was perfect and HOT! Just shower head needs to be cleaned as it had lime scale. This hotel has a lot of potential. New mattress and maintenance issues to be sorted and ready to go!

Best location for the outlet mall, restaurants & cinema as well as the Naval Museum. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Roll out sofa bed perfectly acceptable. Included a breakfast. Parking in the mall carpark directly from the hotel back entrance. Reception is on first floor and the back entrance is in fact the only entrance. Lifts are at one end of the floor so if you have a room at the other end the it is a walk. Minor issues - lift lights on buttons did not work and the discounts for restaurants should have been clearer. Only 20% off the A la carter menu in Brasserie Blanc.

Great location right in Gunwharf Quays. Good price and nice comfy rooms. Staff were great - managed to sort us an early check in so we could get ready for the wedding we were attending.
