Positive : clean room, access to kitchen, good location Negative : bathroom is a wet room with no flexible and no shower cap provided, very small and not practical, need a mirror in the room to dry hair, coffee provided is instant coffee.
Great stay here. Rooms clean, warm and comfortable. It does get very hot at night so I recommend turning your radiator off before bed. Shower was a nice temperature though a bit fiddly and pressure could be better. Facilities provided were great, over and above expectations. Could happily have stayed longer. There was free tea and coffee with a great coffee machine and pods provided. Free breakfast cereal, and all your shower toiletries provided including conditioner as well as use of a large screen TV and comfy sofas with I player and Netflix etc installed for use with your own account. Kitchen and cooking facilities were fab too.
Lovely independent hotel. Guests were left alone. Bed very comfortable . Immaculately clean wet room and bedroom with blackout curtains. The kitchen was always very clean and what a fantastic idea having washing machines there . Will definitely be staying here again. Excellent value for money and not too far away from the shops and sea and I would recommend the brewers fayre for breakfast .
Very happy, a nice hotel, clean room and bathroom, good location. Code based check-in and check-out so its contact free, a plus for introverts. This was our second time here at Blue Star House and definitely we'll revisit in the future.Rooms: 5/5
Good guest house, great host Emma, nice room reasonably priced , parking permit a bonus. Use of kitchen facilities great, if I had to say one bad thing would only be pressure of the shower. Would recommend staying here and I hope to return again
Booked the blue star house at short notice due to being let down by our previous accommodation 3 weeks before we were due to visit south sea for our holiday. The property is very well presented the whole accommodation is spotless the kitchen was well equipped we where contacted by Emma asking if we needed a parking permit at no extra charge which was a bonus we where made to feel very welcome. The property is close to local shop’s on Osborne road & close to Clarence pier we will definitely be visiting blue star house again thank you Emma for your hospitality
Comfortable and well furnished place to stay in if you are looking for a place in the Southsea area. We walked from Portsmouth to this place enjoying the various historical and scenic spots dotting the coast. The house is easily accessible and just off the high street lined with shops, restaurants and pubs. Entry to the house and the rooms is via code which is good as we didn't have to carry a key with us. Our room was very clean and we loved it. The communal kitchen is well stocked with the basics - milk, breakfast cereals, coffee, biscuits and bakery items with dedicated shelf space allocated to keep food for your personal consumption. There are a couple of fridge freezers, ovens, hobs and washing machines - all maintained and looking new. We had received an SMS with all required details from the host and a contact number as well. Upon entry into the house, the list of people with their room numbers is displayed on a board. There is a common lounge area with TV and touristy brochures and public transport details available. Only negative was that a mosquito entered our room through the slightly open window and kept singing in my ear throughout the night.
Lovely location, friendly staff and comfy bed! The manager made us feel at home without being overbearing and gave us tips for some fantastic local places for coffee nearby. Perfect for a short stay, would recommend!Rooms: 5/5
