From the moment I set foot in here the staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was clean with no unpleasant odours. You can control the temperature of the room and plenty of plug sockets. The bed was comfortable and the shower/bath was large. Plenty of space to move around and the desk was great so I could do some work on my laptop. It's in a great location 2 minute walk from the train station, coffee shop right outside and a variety of clothes shops and eateries all within a 5 minute walk
Good, clean, accommodating premiere inn, but has a smaller than usual restaurant inside. Having said that breakfast is of good variety, however the cooked breakfast buffet could be a bit hotter. Staff always very helpful. We found that because it is so close to the railway station it is more convenient to get the train to Portsmouth Harbour, rather than trying to walk as it is a long way, especially for people who have difficulty walking.
My partner brought me to Portsmouth for my 40th birthday weekend. The staff were very friendly and inviting on arrival, the room was clean, comfy and spacious. What made it extra special was the staff bringing me a bottle of wine to my room after hearing it was my birthday at check in. The added bonus is that the trains weren't running due to the strikes so it was very quiet.
Location is amazing and central, apart from hearing the understanding sounds of trains from the station next door the room was clean and tidy. We booked a family room and it's the 1st smallest room Ive ever stayed in. Very warm in October so had to put air con on in room. Shame windows can't be opened. Fire alarm test went off at midday which we knew othing about and it alarmed us!!!. 2 mugs and 2 glasses for a family of 3 wasn't good, but that's not the first time that's happened and not sure why as I had stated my son was 15yrs. Could've done with a few more coathangers as 3 hangers for 3 nights for a family was tough. Apart from all of that it's a very central hotel and walking distance from everywhere
If you like sleeping next to a train track this is the hotel for you. I knew it was near but didn't realise the hotel was a few feet away from the train line. Woken up at 5am, honestly grim night sleep & it sounds like an earthquake from your room. Shame as hotel was clean, staff seemed friendly and the bed was really comfy. Be warned. Stay at another central Portsmouth hotel.
DO NOT GO HERE !!! All rooms are ffected by train noise. 5am in the morning until 11pm at night. As soon as you tell staff they laugh because they know what is coming. Manager claims is states it on the website however it does not. They claim to provide the best nights sleep... i mean come on. Nothing olympic about the breakfast at all eating the dusty shoe that was left my room would have been more tatsefull .
The young woman on reception around 4ish was absolutely lovely! the room was big and very clean. the toilet had trouble flushing but other than that, it’s been great!Rooms: 5/5
Bathroom extracting fan didn't work, toilet seat loose. Towels left behind the door from previous occupant. However staff were very helpful and up beat. Despite being short staffed.Rooms: 4/5
I have not stayed here personally but my mum and Nan found themselves here because of missing their ferry to the isle of white…..I contacted the hotel to see if I could pay for there evening meal…unfortunately they couldn’t take that payment over the phone so the lady gave them a bottle of wine with their dinner free of charge……it put a smile on their faces and colour in their cheeks
I have stayed a few times in this Hotel before. It is a fairly good hotel in my opinion, nothing too extravaganza. The staff are polite and helpful. The rooms are kept clean and tidy to reasonable standards. If you're looking for a luxurious hotel then this one is not for you.Rooms: 4/5
