Popped to Portsmouth for family and a production, ended up with a sleep over, not to much not to little in atmosphere just right, not noisy, great welcoming staff, helpful and in a shar d twin with unexpected disability shower access, worth its weight in gold, clean, comfortable, tv, side lights, port holes, lived the naval take upon the hotel windows that unlatch quite quaint. Beds a bit narrow but we never fell off, beds a bit close so don't sleep next to a avid night time sleep walk type puncher you could always tip and tail large full length mirror. I desk and chair a wee coffee table and a wee bench, also available fan, hairdryer and spare pillow. Can request from receptionist more tea/coffee/sugar/milk.nnBooked in advance well worth the cost with the breakfast added at time of booking not keen on their sausages pretty much self service.nnAccidentally pressed help call alarm, sat to the back of bed found it behind pillow, staff member attended with polite knock and call out through the door, had no clue it was there. But so good to know they work and reaction time fabulous.nLifts available.nnReally enjoyed stating the night.nnPost visit photos, all tidy and tucked away in arrival.
The room was super small. The shower also tiny and poorly designed so water flooded the floor. The receptionist was friendly and accommodating and bar staff were also good. Unfortunately the bar closed at 11:00 pm.nLocation is pretty convenient and near the train station.
The room was extremely small — much smaller than expected — with almost no wardrobe or storage space, which made it uncomfortable for two people. The shower area was very compact and poorly isolated, so water leaked outside easily. The breakfast was quite limited, mainly heavy fried food, and items were often missing until refilled. The reception doesn’t really feel like a hotel reception, more like a simple desk in a corner.nnHousekeeping was inconsistent and once entered our room without knocking, which was very unpleasant. Overall, the hotel feels very basic and not worth the price, though it’s convenient if you just need a quick overnight stay near the train station.
Staff very pleasant on check in and the whole reception area was very welcoming as it was decorated for Christmas. The room is modern, albeit small, as you'd have a few problems using the toilet or shower if you was bigger than average as it's quite tight. Apart from that, it was great, everything you needed.
It was clean and tidy. The staff were welcoming and friendly. My son and I shared a twin bedded room which was comfortable but a bit on the small side. The bathroom in particular was very small and difficult to move around , but it was clean and everything worked as it should. Fine for one night , but I’m not sure if I would like it for a week!
