We had a great stay, the only downfall was the noise throughout the night which woke us and our toddler up several times both nights. Upon arrival we were met by two very friendly staff members, made to feel welcome right from the start. We accidentally booked an accessible room but it wasn’t a problem. Room was easy to find and the lifts were handy with a toddler and luggage. Room was very spacious and all the amenities you might need. Bed very comfortable. The travel cot provided was very uncomfortable though, I put my boy in and he said ‘ouch, hard’ I tried to pad it out but he ended up having to come in bed with us. Breakfast was fantastic both mornings, plenty to pick from, all stayed really warm and fast replacement of things running out. Takeaway bags and cups for things to take with you. Evening meals were lovely, well presented, tasty and reasonable prices for a hotel. Staff across both days and evenings were so so lovely, very interactive with my little way and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Would definitely return but ask for a quieter area of the hotel for the room. Rooms: We accidentally booked an accessible room but it was good to see the amenities. My little boy sneaked and pressed a call bell, someone was at the room before I could even turn it off so it was a very quick response should it have been actually needed. Food & drinks: Fantastic food, the macaroni cheese was amazing. Good variety and brilliant service. Noteworthy details: The noise levels are very very high, I woke up during the night thinking someone had come in our room because their voices sounded like they were right next to me but it was from the corridor. Definitely request an out of the way room if possible.
Recently visited for 2 nights over pride weekend, we couldn't get the air conditioning working in our room so asked reception to come and have a look. The lady at the desk was really helpful and came upstairs straight away. Unfortunately they weren't able to get it working to offered to move us to a different room which we accepted. Not only this but they also gave us two complimentary drinks for the trouble which was a lovely surprise. The manager on duty was lovely and they made us feel really welcome and looked after. We haven't had such good customer service in a long time! Will definitely be returning. Location is great and parking is convenient and cheap in the multi-storey next door!
Lovely location situated in leeds docks and a short walk to the city centre or you can take the water taxi. Rooms were not special but perfectly adequate! The staff were lovely and so helpful!Rooms: 4/5
My husband and I have stayed at this hotel in the past and will certainly stay again. Very modern and clean hotel with everything you need. Good menu for an express hotel. Breakfast looked delicious with good choice. I only wish I wasn't leaving early so I could have had more than coffee and a quick bite. Saying that there were carry out cups for coffee and we they were containers and notes saying if no time for breakfast, we could have asked for a bag to take breakfast out. Excellent and friendly staff..
So this hotel is quite good actually like one bed can even turn into a sofa! Plus the service were very kind and breakfast was good. But there was one flaw, The air conditioner was dripping water, so my dad wanted to turn the AC a lil bit down cuz it was really cold but when he turned it down it started dripping like a waterfall my Mom said. Other than that tho everything was good. I would recommend it if your going to Leeds!
My friend and I stayed here on June 21 st for two nights. The twin room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable! The service on reception was outstanding as the staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast at the hotel was all freshly cooked and an good variety to choose from including healthy options to a full cooked breakfast. The restaurant was very clean and tidy too. The hotel has a good view across the canal and is in a very good location: Pizza Express, the Canary Bar , a Tesco , local artistian bakery, coffee shop and the Royal Armouries museum. It's a ten minute walk to the city centre. Many thanks to all the staff at Holiday Inn ,10/10 for excellent customer service. Rooms: Outstanding cleanliness and a good view Nearby activities: Museum Safety: We felt very safe plenty of people about Walkability: 10 minutes away from the city centre or there is a water taxi daily every 15 minutes Food & drinks: Good choice in hotel bar
What a great place!! The room was very clean and quiet, very good service and amazing location. Supermarket nearby and a few restaurants around. The view around the hotel is magically! Rooms: Clean and quiet Nearby activities: Supermarket and restaurants Food & drinks: Supermarket and restaurants
Holiday Inn Express Leeds City Centre certainly ticks a lot of the boxes you’d expect from the brand, equipped with all the standard facilities and supported by a capable and friendly staff. The on-site restaurant is a standout feature, offering convenient dining options with both breakfast and dinner served daily—an ideal setup for busy travelers. However, my stay was significantly overshadowed by a critical issue that affected the overall comfort and quality of the experience. The doors in this hotel lack any mechanism to close quietly, resulting in loud slamming noises approximately every 20 minutes throughout the night. This constant disruption made it difficult to achieve a good night's sleep—a fundamental expectation for any hotel guest. It’s disappointing, especially considering the substantial investment for the establishment of this property. The oversight regarding such a basic aspect of guest comfort is surprising and suggests a shortcoming in management’s attention to detail. In light of these issues, I find myself compelled to award the Holiday Inn Express Leeds City Centre just 2 stars. Despite its numerous positives, the hotel falls short in its primary service—providing a restful sleep environment. For travellers seeking tranquillity and rest, this could be a significant deterrent.
What’s not to like? £60 for a double room including breakfast on a Monday night. Friendly staff, great bar, breakfast was self serve and brilliant, you can have take away boxes and bags as well. Room is smaller than Premier Inn if that’s your reference point, bathroom a bit dated but absolutely fine. Fingerprints on the window and bedside table not been cleaned, but nothing to complain about. Tv had loads of channels, windows opened which is a bonus. Odd numbers have a view of the Armouries and canal. Wouldn’t spend a week here but one or two nights, perfect. Multi story right next door with 3 very slow ev chargers. Thank you for being so wonderful team Rooms: Completely functional Walkability: Perfect for Leeds Food & drinks: Good bar and breakfast station. Pizza Express round the corner
Can’t fault this for a good city located hotel. Quick Uber into central Leeds or a 20 min walk. Great price, clean, good service and nice breakfast buffet included.Rooms: 5/5
