Just enjoyed a trip to Glasgow for a comedy gig at the OVO Hydro arena with my wife and our friends and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Riverside. Normally I'm a Premier Inn kinda guy but I found the Holiday Inn to be excellent. Modern and very clean. Great friendly service from the staff and thoroughly enjoyed myself here.nThe rooms were very clean and well presented with twin beds and the amenities you would expect : TV with a good choice of available channels, kettle with 2 mugs, teas and coffees, 2 glasses for water, hair dryer, mini ironing board and iron, air conditioning, free WiFi and hanging / storage for clothes, telephone with direct line to reception and desk area for any work related needs such as laptop paper work with a comfortable chair to sit on as you work.nThe bathroom with shower was very clean and in good order with hand wash, body wash and shampoo provided. We had no complaints whatsoever in any form and this includes noise from inside and outside the hotel despite one of the local football teams winning the league and their supporters more than happy to shout about it, the noise outside could not be heard inside, even late into the night when we returned from our gig.nIn terms of comfort, they provided 2 pillows on each bed with 1 firm and 1 soft so you could choose for your preference and I have to admit, I personally had a much better night's sleep than I've ever had in a Premier Inn which is their claim to provide you with a great night's sleep guarantee ! This will make me re-think about booking with Premier Inn in future.
Absolutely blown away with the kindness and hospitality of the team here. We were having a horrible day and they couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating.nThe afternoon reception team when we arrived got us sorted with our room even though there was an issue it was booked on our behalf by another company. So whilst they waited to resolve it, we got to our room and settled in after hours of stress & unexpected travelling.nnThe morning team were just as kind & efficient and even provided us with late check out as our stresses from the previous day hadn’t been resolved.nnThe team couldn’t have done more for us & and I can’t thank them enough for the smiles and genuine care they gave us - a team full of gems who clearly put their customers first at every turn.nnThe room itself was super clean, well equipped and spacious. The breakfast was great too!!nnWon’t hesitate to book this place next time we’re staying in Glasgow.
Everything spot on, aircon worked well in room and mattress was very comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was also great. Also situated in a good central location for food and drinks and to explore. Parts of the hotel were a bit tatty, but for the money this could be ignored and certainly was worth it.
Stayed here for a few days at the end of last week. This will now be our go, too. The staff are always smiling and make time to chat. Breakfast was spot on and the staff were constantly checking it. Our room was just the right size and best bed I've slept in for a long time. Good sized bathroom with a good shower. At the end of the hotel lobbies ate some beautiful glass walk outs that overlook the river Clyde. Very peaceful at night and beautiful views through the day. They have a handy microwave and ice machine also. Honestly cannot fault. See you again soon
A bit dissapointed. You know you do not book a stay at a high-end hotel, but this was the worst Holiday Inn Express we ever had. Rooms were seriously outdated. The lobby as well. Breakfast was very poor. Staff didn't care at all about connecting with the guest. Hint: Hospitality is part of your job as well. Not just handing out room keys or cleaning the tables. Location was at walking distance of the city centre, but not in the nicest or friendly area. Too bad...
