Stayed 3 nights. Staff very helpful. Had a vegan meal in the hotel, which was a bit pricey, but very nice. Check-in information etc sent to me was different to what was advertised on the website. Breakfast was great, we had vegan sausages on request, and plenty of choice. Room was clean and bed very comfortable. Exit from car park onto roundabout is badly designed and dangerous, as they built a flower bed in the lane. A heater was available in the room as well as central heating.
The staff here are brilliant. Very friendly and keen to help where they can. Everyone looked smart and the reception area and hall ways were clean and tidy. The room was ok. The carpet looked like it could do with replacing but not the end of the world. The beds were very comfortable. The only thing that let the experience down was the bathroom. The toilet smelled quite strongly of urine, the sink was very slow to drain and the shower in the morning was a couple degrees above luke-warm. It's a great priced hotel just outside the city centre with plenty of options to travel to and from. Oh yes and you have to pay additionally for parking if you take a vehicle, however they do provide a discount code so it is a bit cheaper.
First room we were allocated had an awful bed, the springs were so uncomfortable. We asked at reception if all beds were the same, we were told each room has the same beds but we were offered another room and this mattress was much better. Was thankful they accommodated me as I have severe pain in my shoulder and could not have managed a night on a bad bed. The room was sufficient for our needs, tv, kettle, clean, though the air system kept blowing really cold air near the bed despite trying to turn uo the heating, so we had to resort to switch off all heating, this wasn't pleasant as it was the really cold and stormy weekend that did recent damage to the UK and so we were freezing, but still we were grateful for the more comfortable bed. The bathroom was very small but functional and the shower was difficult to regulate the temperature, but at least we had hot water. Breakfast was obviously very busy and it wasn't easy to find a seat that wasn't swamped in someone else's dirty plates. They don't serve hot porridge as an option for brekky, but when I asked they brought out a dry pack that you add hot water to. It was good of them to try to help, but this wasn't an option for me as those porridge pots are most unpleasant and unhealthy. So I opted for weetabix, which was OK, but it was cold and I was hoping for a warm brekky after a freezing night. Full English is available for those without any health issues.nThe carpark is sufficient for guest size but it's a trek to the entrance of the hotel I'd you are not the lucky few who got the best lots early.nOverall, clean and functional room, helpful staff, a few details that could be improved, but on the whole, all you need for clean and comfortable night away from home. Would recommend.
Excellent location. Easy walking path from the hotel to Mill Rd, where there are various restaurants and cafes. About 2 miles from the city centre, but not bad.nnThe room was nice but small. We had a large family and a dog, so it was very tight quarters compared to a typical American hotel.nnGreat service at the bar/restaurant. In particular, Appy, Saks, and Patrick were very personable and attentive to all the tables. They put the effort in to know you as a person and make you feel welcome.nnReally appreciated the stay.
Stay was out of necessity rather than for leisure, as a family member in hospital nearby after major emergency heart surgery - all staff have been so friendly and helpful - a special mention to Candice who went above and beyond to help, very kind and reassuring. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Anything you have forgotten the staff will help with - and are always happy to top up any supplies for room, like toothbrushes, which were surprisingly nice. Free parking is very helpful - just remember to log your car registration at Reception. Only downside was the food in restaurant - it is not great, trying to find a healthy option was pretty impossible. I would not hesitate to stay there again, and would like to thank all of the staff for making me/us feel more comfortable during this tough time.
