Stayed here last weekend. Usually stay in holiday inn Queensway but here was cheaper. Staff member who checked us in did not welcome us, smile or tell us to enjoy our stay! Room seemed clean with great sized shower. Dip in double bed which we kept rolling into! Breakfast selection was good and well stocked. Staff members in kitchen were all working very hard attending to tables and food items. We probably would stay here again but with a better bed.
I stayed at this hotel late last month and was extremely disappointed. The service provided by the front desk attendant was very poor. During check-in, there was a long line, and while assisting me, the receptionist was using her personal phone, making us wait for over 10 minutes. I initially thought there was an issue with my booking, but she only put her phone down to proceed with the check-in after I questioned her. Worse still, she handed me another guest’s registration information to sign, which was absolutely unacceptable. Fortunately, I carefully read the details before signing. Regarding parking, no information was mentioned at all, including the need to register my plate number at the hotel. The B4 Parking that they partner with is essentially a trap. While they advertise a guest rate of £14.4 for 24 hours, if you leave the premises for a meal or shopping, you are required to pay extra without any prior notification. This results in receiving a £100 fine without warning. There was a TV in the room, but no remote control. When I requested a remote control from the front desk, I discovered that the TV was completely non-functional.
Reception had answered my request to be on the 19th and top floor, checking was simple. The location was great for business and the hotel was clean. The room was large and had everything needed. The Dove soaps were out of this world and so was the large full cabinet shower. Breakfast was well cooked and tasty but basic too. Drinks were good also. A great stay and such a comfy bed and pillows.
Spent a Sunday night in this place while driving down from Manchester to Devon. I thought to split the trip in 2 parts . It’s my first time in Birmingham and I’ve never seen such ride people in my life. By people I meant the hotel staff. No greetings, no smiles to the customers, each one of them yes , all of them were treating customers like we’re there to force them to work . One of the receptionist laughed in my face because I asked her a question. The hotel itself is ok but don’t pay more than 60£ a night, it’s just not worth it . You can have the most beautiful hotel in the world but if you hire rude staff, you will never succeed!
Rooms were nice, food was ok, beds were comfy, service was nice, the air conditioning broke but that's not the end of it... ...BUT THE ELEVATORS there was only 3 elevators 1 wasn't working and there was no one working on it. When me and my family of 4 left the place we waited HALF AN HOUR for the for the elevators to have room. Then we have to go down 24 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS. So if you have a family I would recommend to stay away from this place
Great hotel in a very convenient location with breakfast included. The room was almost faultless, save for the dodgy shower head that needed changing or cleaning. Breakfast can be busy so early is best. Excellent tram connection, very close to the jewellery quarter. Aircon was very welcome as the room got hot when it was off. The cleaning service everyday was also fantastic. We returned to an excellently cleaned room with everything fully restocked. Be careful at the bar because the prices are very high and you won't know how high until it's time to pay. 2 pints and a large red wine.....£21. we weren't even asked what size wine we wanted either. But, that said, lesson learned and we'd still stay again and recommend the hotel.
Huge room with en suite for £60 in Birmingham City Centre on a Friday night. Honoured my request for a room on a high floor. Mattress was moderately comfortable, pillows not very soft. Curtains were full blackout. Breakfast was included but pretty tasteless and not much variety - just a couple of cereal options or granola, toast, bacon/sausages, tomatoes, scrambled eggs, baked beans, little muffins, a piece of whole fruit, watered down juice or hot drink.
Had a great experience here while staying a night for work. It was the best of this kind of hotel that I'd stayed in in a while. The room was spacious, very clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was really nice with a big shower and felt recently refurbished. I asked to buy toothpaste but was given a free mini toothpaste and a toothbrush at reception which was a very nice touch given how good value the price was already. And the complementary breakfast was as good as any paid for version I've had in a travelodge or premier inn etc. Also there was a small gym on site which I didn't expect for an 'express' set up. Location wise it was a 10ish minute walk from the station so there were other hotels closer to where I needed to be but it's not a long walk and worth it to stay somewhere that doesn't feel like it hasn't been updated in 20 years.
On arriving we had no option to leave our luggage in a locker room. Our room had black mold, other stains and water damage. After complaining we got a new room. Even that room was very mediocre. The staff were rude, lazy and not very helpful. Breakfast was oke. I do not recommend staying in this hotel! Rooms: Very dirty. Many stains on the carpet, walls, ceiling, couch etc
We stayed at holiday Inn for a night and our experience was horrible. We had to change the rooms multiple times as there was always some issue e.g. faulty sofa bed, heating etc. The guy at the reception was very rude and wasn't friendly at all. I would prefer to stay somewhere else next time.Rooms: 1/5
